Thank you for this vid. This is the best truck sim for console. It has issues, but compared to everything else, this is nice.
@@Endor2001 glad I can help
If American Truck Simulator would add seasons/weather/chains, and then Alaska life would be perfect for truck simulation.
I bought into the hype of the reviews and got the game. I wouldn't be surprised if the positive reviews were friends and family of the developers. I tried an hour later to refund it, but MS denied it. I can't believe they allow companies to sell their trash on the XBox platform, then refuse to give a refund.
Series X, this game is laggy, the mirrors are useless, the pop-in is crazy, the steering is terrible. Most of the roads I've been on have very unrealistic curves/bends that is impossible to navigate without slowing to unrealistic speeds. It seems like developers don't even play test the games, or simply don't care how rotten they are.
The default controllers are horrible but you can adjust them to make steering better. Also, if you have ever played other truck simulators on console this is by far the best so far. I still have hope so far based on being in their Discord and the progress they have made on PC/Steam. And I do not know any of the developers. I try to remain optimistic based on the PC play.
@@GrampzIsGaming I wasn't implying you were related to the developers. I was just ranting about the 5 star reviews on the MS site. It seems like they are playing a different game. I've adjusted the controls, choosing American and Alaskan, but they still don't feel right. I hope the developers add a steering sensitivity slider, like the slider for the camera. Even that wouldn't remedy the unrealistic curves in the road. I like the other gameplay, but the driving is just terrible imo.
@@thumbwiz no I didn’t mean you meant me but I did want to clarify. I’m using Alaskan and low precision + most of the time and turned sensitivity down to 70. Also I too am getting the crashes when buying in the garage. I found if I buy and immediately save I’ve had some luck. Here’s hoping they get it fixed quickly
@@GrampzIsGaming Hate to tell you, but your xboxX is outdated for the level of detail this game has. Just get you a good pc and be done with it. Fuck a console.
@@DanangAlta I prefer console even though I have some games on PC as well. Thanks for commenting though.
Best console truck game. Been loving it (20 hours in). I love the Ice Road Truckers show so this really is my niche. But it needs polished in many areas. Especially the frames, pop ins, side mirrors and crashes. It's still fun. I have PC too but it's fun on console
@@toxicgracie3772 yea me too. Been trying to build up XP in Fairbanks since there are several short run options. That a snapping pictures of points of interest
@@GrampzIsGaming yayayaya 👍 I prefer the long runs but to each it's own 😎
@@toxicgracie3772 oh me too but the long runs don’t give you that much more xp. The give you quite a bit more money though. I’m just focusing on xp for a bit to get everything leveled up.
@@GrampzIsGaming Ohhh I never realized that!! Thank you 🙏 I should be doing more short runs for XP gain
@@toxicgracie3772 glad I could help
great video about the game, great tips to get started
Thanks!
I'm enjoying it a lot on Series X. Around 20 hours in, no crashes or serious bugs. If they tidied the graphics up a little, plus the low fps mirrors, fps in general, it will be great. I love the radio station and feel of the driving. Oh, a cruise control option would be great.
Yea I totally agree they need to fix the fps and better graphics would be nice. Truck Driver The American Dream has better, detailed graphics but the game play and dumb AI always getting in the way turns me off from it.
Been playing every night after on Xbox series x been good so far but does need a update
@@travisowens4388 totally agree
Looks way better than any of the other Truck Sims I just would like to know if it’s steering wheel compatible
Just come across your channel man, I’ve just purchased this game and your vid is a great help thanks 👍🏽
Glad I could help! How are you liking the game?
@@GrampzIsGaming just starting out it’s cool 👍🏽
@@leemillard5514 Glad you're liking it!
Hope the production team keeps updating the game map dlc bug and glithes fixes god bless this game probably the best trucking game on concole❤
@@PineApple-vq9xv yea me too. Are you playing it? If so how has it been for you?
Are they going to add day cAb
I got it but have ats on an old pc and it’s light years ahead. I was even hoping going over bumps would be like ats, but alas no. I don’t understand a game as old as ats can’t be made on the ps5.
Yea I hear you but this is actually the best truck simulator, imo, that we have gotten on console yet. Hopefully they will upgrade the graphics. I mean PS5 and latest XB can handle them.
It’s not that bad but they have messed up on the standard graphics & optimise settings and what kind of prime mover doesn’t have engine breaks
@@STROLLEDKNIGHT yea they seem to be active in fixing so keeping my fingers crossed
Jake break definitely needs to be put in
Nice game, I think it will be great if they should make the sound effects of the environment more realistic because I don’t hear any storm wind when you get outside the truck and the rain we should hear inside the cabin a little bit, it will be great 👍
@@UnhumanoiD1974 I started in casual mode so I'm still in summer. Fortunately they're still actively developing it so let's keep our fingers crossed
@@GrampzIsGaming I started at medium mode, after 50 hours game play I decided and I deleted my save and jumped on legendary mode, didn’t see almost any difference 👍
@@UnhumanoiD1974 is there any advantage to any of the modes? A bonus or something?
@@GrampzIsGaming I don’t think so, for now it’s a little bit more avalanches and more often trees blocking the road, it’s fine, try it 👍Just buy the best winter jacket from a small shop in Ice point, you can’t freeze at all with that .
I've got this game and occasionally when I try and hook up the trailer the trailer glitches out and it ends up with 100% damage on the trailer so I get nothing for delivery
@@brianjthomson17 I haven't run into that one yet
Wth, it's so glitchy on consoles, im playing the 1.3 version on pc because of third world reasons, but it's not glitchy at all, just looks unfinished, because, well... It is. Also, i don't think we're getting a coop mode and this saddens me, im kinda tired of ets2/ats
I hear ya!
Will this game get mods on consoles
They announced that they would be putting out a road map by end of year, but I would doubt that mods would be on console.
Hey Grampz! Just found your channel. I'm looking forward to watching your Alaskan Road Trucker Highway Edition videos. I'm thinking about buying it. Have you checked out Snowrunner? Or Mudrunner? They are hauling simulation games. I think you might like them. They are both on consol, and Mudrunner was on sale (might not be now). Great video! Looking forward to more.
Hey, thanks for the follow. I've played Mudrunner in the past, but haven't tried Snowrunner. I've also played American Truck Simulator on PC but looking for a good one on console. Hoping this will be the one. So far it hasn't disappointed although it hasn't been without issues either. Guess we will see on how they continue to develop it.
Just discovered your channel! Great to see fellow grandparent gaming on TH-cam. I've just bought this game because I too wanted a good trucking game on console. I love ETS and ATS but I am predominantly a console player.
This game ticks all the boxes, just a little tweaking and it would be perfect.
Looking forward to seeing more of your videos now I've subscribed 😀
@@risingwalker6269 Ah thanks! Yea I think we have the exact same takes and likes on these. So far this game really hits all the right things for me.
Checked out your channel. Saw you went with the Yeti design for your truck. Have you done any of the Ice Roads yet?
@GrampzIsGaming Yes! I love that one. I've just got the mad max truck as well.
I've only done one ice road job at the moment, I want to up my licences so I have more options to pick from.
Being a big fan of Ice Road Truckers though I was so excited to get to Fairbanks and Prudoe Bay in the game 😅
Yes
Tired of the bashing on this great sim for console....in my opinion it's the best by far. The real trash is American Dream....for me it crashes every 5 minutes, so it probably is corrupted...the newest files are since I downloaded it a week ago. This is really neat and innovative. There are more aspects of survival then just going A to B. You can actually physically do things, and go inside buildings....this sim came a long way so far. There are still some bugs, but very playable. I'm enjoying this more than any other trucking game. The graphics need some tweaking but aren't bad, the truck interior and exterior look and sound good in my opinion.
Do not buy for Xbox series S. It crashes every time you try to buy a new truck. It is also horribly optimized but this needs to be fixed at a minimum.
Yea that happened to me last night as well. I do know they are actively working bugs. Have you played Truck Driver The American Dream? These seem so minor compared to that game and I paid $60 for it. Plus ART are putting out fixes quicker. Other than that how are you enjoying the game?
@@GrampzIsGaming No, I avoided the other two truck “simming” games on console but this one got some hype. I find it hard to enjoy because the uneven frame rate/pop-in strains my eyes and it crashes or needs to be restarted every 1-2 hours which is the opposite of a relaxing sim.
@@TickleFight94 I've haven't seen that many crashes on PS5, however consider yourself lucky you skipped out on the others.
Should I buy it for the series c
Oops I meant series X
I like the game but already hate that I paid almost 40$ for a game that crashes and refuses to let me buy any trucks or anything without crashing, the gas gauge doesn’t work, many other bugs like the Ai traffic my god are brain dead got ran into them and I have to pay for the accident when 90% of them are the Ai running into me or running me off the road.. they wild on here.
Other than that it’s a meh. For a so called simulator game which kinda but it’s extremely boring and plain, the radio sucks in it, the music why can’t I have some prisoner of the highway by Ronnie Milsap or something on it.
Edit I am on Xbox series S,X same issues. Recommend waiting for it going on sell js its a broken mess.
You must have bought it day 1 or 2 when the pricing was messed up because its only $28.99
Oh and I found a way to buy trucks without crashing. Yes, its a pain, but save the game before you buy the truck, log back into the game, buy the truck and then immediately save the game and exit again. I've only had crashes during the buy menu. Hopefully it will improve. I paid $60 for Truck Driver The American Dream and this game is 100x better than that one.
Not defending the game, just sharing what I know so far. Hope it helps!
camera shaking is the bad gets you sea sick
@@expat5587 yea, I actually try to play Truck Driver again last night and while the graphics seem a lot smoother the AI just make it unplayable for me
Its digital only so no
