Sir, when we executed the refresh command, what oracle did. Did it perform the operation sum of the salary department wise after we fired the execute the comnand?

When u execute the refresh command then the oracle does an operation in database and oracle auto update the data into materialzed view also and updated data of any table data is just copied in materialzed view in table format.
