25:20 Unless you are considered "weak", a regular wolf will always flee from you if you have a lit torch or flare out.
The wolf will consider you "weak" if you meet one of the following requirements:
1: 20% or lower health
2: 0% Fatigue
3: Being overencumbered by any amount
4: Having any kind of sprain
5: If you have an untreated bleeding wound
Even in these situations, they still have a chance to flee, and are guaranteed to flee if you throw the torch/flare at them before they charge. This is why it's so important to keep your weight down when you can, because it makes dealing with wolves extremely easy.
Also, even a regular flare will stop a timber wolf, it just barely reduces their morale when you throw it. You should really only use the marine flare for timber wolves if your plan is to break their morale. If you're fast enough, you can completely break a pack's morale with a single marine flare by repeatedly throwing it and picking it up. If your plan is to just run from them, or give them enough pause that you can shoot them, a regular flare does the job.
Mike! I'm very disappointed. You have not one but TWO life-saving tools in your inventory AND two cleaning kits. Get those revolvers back to serviceable condition in case you need them.

I like how the developers make the difficulty settings to make them work, like on the Interloper difficulty it's made so that the weather wants to kill you, and on the Stalker difficulty the wildlife that surrounds you is much more dangerous than in the same interloper
I sometimes use flares for light on stalker since I also feel an imperative to pick them up lol
I completely agree the addition of timber wolves all over Great Bear definitely makes the game harder. I'm worried that I will reach a frustration point with the game. I stopped playing for a while due to that very thing a couple years ago when wolves were not afraid of torches.

You'll probably find one along the way or even at the summit, but definitely gonna need a hacksaw for the crates at the summit.
