    Thank you for sharing your design! Looks great! I'd be pretty proud to get all that work done in one day...in the heat! It seems that your floor is sloped for drainage, as well, so that increases the angle of the roof in the same needed direction also, is that right? My question is: will this design make the kennel climb-proof. My own Rottie is already trained and would never, but I'm thinking if I have a Board &train dog such as a Mal or other athletic fence-scaler, could they get out through the top? Thinking of how to put 1"x1" hardware cloth to make it Houdini-Dog proof. Thanks!

      That's a good point! You could also use full 2x4's on the front instead of the smaller pieces to get the elevation you need, then there wouldn't be any gaps at all. Running a trim board along the sides would fill the gaps on the sides too. Will cost a little more for lumber, obviously, but that should take care of it.
      Luckily, I don't have to worry about that too much with my dogs.

      And remember, it's only like 3" of space. Most big dogs aren't going to make it through there.
