Competition is not bad if isn't exactly the same thing or isn't using unfair tactics to overcome, like Company A has so much money that they can sell some item on loss for many decades and not go bankrupt but Company B can't sell to same price because it's go on bankrupt. It's not who make the best but who can bullied the best.

The other monosaccharides are absorbed via. active transport which means they require energy to be absorbed, but fructose is absorbed via facilitated diffusion, so its just way easier to be taken up.

Those big brands use artificial sweeteners like sucralose, aspartame, etc. natural non cal sweeteners like stevia & monk fruit have been in the game for a llloooonnngggg time. Plus it's very popular now, that most big brand start to have different product with those sweeter only. I will see also just limit your intake of sugar if you really want to, you can be balance both if you wanna be creative. The reason hfcs isnt great for you is because you need equal parts of glucose to fructose in order to breakdown the fructose. Having un equal levels of them can make the high fructose cause liver damage but glucose alone is fine of course.

Im in 2nd year med-school, and basically fructose is -bad- because it skips like 2 steps of metabolic regulation when its digested by enzimes, making it way easier for it to oversaturate hepatic metabolism, leading to all the complications of metabolic syndrome way easier than glucose would. Lower consumption would solve that, but when itcomes to dietary recommendations its preffereable to build a meal with regular glucose that sticks to the metabolic pathways we are accostumed to. + again, a lower consumption would technically make it non-harmful, but considering the way it metabolizes in comparison to glucose, it makes it in general prefferable to keep away from candy or products that in general could target children or people already suffering from dietary and metabolic disorders
I too like Ryan and I’ve following him for a few years now. Oompa and Ryan are actually pretty similar imo, both seem pretty normal and down to earth. I think they both live in Texas as well so maybe they should do a collab.
I think the difference between Oompas candy and the others is how involved Caleb is in his company. All the other TH-camrs are more or less just sticking their name on existing brands and they will not stand the test of time. Caleb and Sour Boys is completely Caleb’s and he can make it last as long as he wants it too.

Glucose can be used by everything and stored in glycogen. Fructose mostly goes into liver and can't be stored in glycogen, so it's turned into fat and can give you fatty liver, similarly to alcohol. Sucrose gets broken up immediately. So it's less bad because it's only half fructose as opposed to completely fructose
I can kinda get why people are upset about the candy's price. $6 for a bag of sour rope candy is a little steep, considering groceries are so expensive these days and people have less money to spend on goodies. Comparatively, a bag of sour airheads is about $2 in my area, so 4 bags would come to around $8. It's a value thing for most people, and while I definitely think your business deserves to succeed, I can see why some people would be turned off by the price.

Glucose can be used by everything and stored in glycogen. Fructose mostly goes into liver and can't be stored in glycogen, so it's turned into fat and can give you fatty liver, similarly to alcohol. Sucrose gets broken up immediately. So it's less bad because it's only half fructose as opposed to completely fructose

I can kinda get why people are upset about the candy's price. $6 for a bag of sour rope candy is a little steep, considering groceries are so expensive these days and people have less money to spend on goodies. Comparatively, a bag of sour airheads is about $2 in my area, so 4 bags would come to around $8. It's a value thing for most people, and while I definitely think your business deserves to succeed, I can see why some people would be turned off by the price.
