Insane carbon-clad Soarer sets sights on Pro Am class in Sydney at WTAC 2019

A new international competitor has entered the challenge! If you know anything about time attack racing, you'll know that Kunihiko Bando and his carbon-clad JZZ30 Toyota Soarer are the hottest property in the sport right now. Everything about this project defies all odds, and now he is looking to make an upset at the Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge 2019 by aiming at the top step of the Pro Am podium.

As a Soarer owner myself, yes, this is happiness inducing.
As for the performance, well of course! It's basically a Supra under the skin, after all!
And since I daily drive mine, I can tell you that this has become the car of my dreams. I make that distinction as a guy who had the big JDM sports cars plastered all over his walls as a teenager. I live and breathe JDM sports cars of the 90s. That said, the Soarer was always second-fiddle back in those days. But now that I own one, and I have driven the others, like the FD RX-7 for example, I have come to the realization that this car -- the Soarer -- is (for me, anyway) the very best fit for someone who loves what I hold dear. This car is the unsung hero of the JDM scene. This car, the Soarer, is the best that Japan had to offer in the 90s.

Just really got into time attack in the last year, but I'm long time sc300 owner. Hate to see Bando is retiring this car, but I understand hes moving the gtr chassis. Best of luck.
