- There's a religious war raging in the Middle East: Judaism, Islam and Christianity seem irreconcilable. Sounds familiar? Well, Lessing's play NATHAN THE WISE is set 800 ago, but sadly up to date. Michael Sommer and his Playmobil cast present a very compact and amusing version of this German classic of Enlightenment. And yes, there's a couple of rings in the story, too... DISCLAIMER: WATCHING THIS VIDEO DOES NOT REPLACE READING THE PLAY. My recommendation: Read it yourself, watch it in the theatre, or, preferably, stage it!

This was great! Krass! My mum is taking a class on German Enlightenment and they are studying Lessing at the moment and reading this play. I read a bit of it with her-for funzies- and enjoyed it. I've studied in England for two years. And played theatre in English. That's a good training!
I wish you had English versions for all your literature insights, but I'm really thankful for the few you do have. I believe your work will highly increase my chances of passing the German Baccalaureate exam and I wanted to thank you in advance! :) (let's hope I do pass it cause otherwise this is a bit awkward)
