This is kinda sad really. Calvin knows he has to get away from Chiko or he will starve. He does his part by getting away from Chiko in this video but no one is there to rescue him. For social animals, Calvin definitely lived a very lonely life. 🤷🏾♀️
Yes I agree 👏🏼 It’s weird because I’ve seen other baby monkeys start to wander around or away from their mothers and then almost immediately another monkey will come up and try to take them , but not with Calvin 🤔 I wonder why ? Did they all know something was wrong with him maybe or is that even possible ?
@@Layla_L0V3 Without Casi, Calvin was a big nobody in the troop. An outsider. Misfit. Notice how the females are interested in him (sniffing, grooming etc) all while Casi had him but the moment she would abandon him, he was treated like the plague? Nobody wanted anything to do with him. Why? Because a Macaque cannot survive without mom and these monkeys, don’t normally care for young that’s not their own…. but they do kidnap frequently.

Chiko was his aunt. Calvin's birth mom was Chikos older sister.
You can see looking at Calvin that something is not right. From day one laying on the forest floor. Little movement, no sound , no crying. This all before Cassi came into the picture. A Normal baby monkey doesn't just lay on the ground and not move or make a sound when born or after birth. Now here he is just standing wobbling looking around.. He is was not right his mother knew it Cassi knew it. Other Monkeys who have gotten a whiff of his butt knew!!

@@Layla_L0V3 In my opinion I think he may have had neurological problems that could have been caused by a number of things such as premature birth, falling from a tall tree at birth, it’s impossible to know for sure, and we will never know! But he did not behave all together like other babies. He had trouble with almost everything he was doing. Some people totally deny a birth defect and say it was all Casi and Celine but I think it was more than lack of milk as I know Casi was feeding him not as much as her bio baby Celine but he was being fed. He may have been hungry but he was never starving untill Chiko started taking him for babysitting excursions Everyone has their own opinions on this Calvin ( I personally didn’t like him much ) and the more people talked badly of Casi and Celine, I really started to resent him! These are wild creatures that go off their God given instincts, and nothing more, can’t blame a monkey for behaving like a monkey!

I honestly USE TO feel bad for the little turd all the way up until I seen a video of the VOs trying to feed him a bottle and he acted like it wasn’t good enough for him. Whether he knew how to suckle out of a bottle or not, i have seen other baby monkeys figure it out, and if he was really starving then he too would’ve figured it out , but like you said he wasn’t starving while he was with Casi he may have been hungry, I have seen him nurse from her a bunch and we also don’t see what happens when the cameras aren’t rolling. He started to starve when he was with Chiko, bless her heart ❤️ There was definitely something up with the little guy and it’s too bad we will never know iam curious to know how he would be today if he hadn’t died, his sense of entitlement was wayyy to strong and wayy to loud coming from someone as small as he was 😆

They will discipline for a number of thing as well! His eating out of turn would have been a death sentence in itself, noisey chaos is not tolerated either! Calvin was doomed the minute his head popped out. Mother was going to chat her up to him one way or another! I wish the VOs hadn’t listened to people telling them to do this and that! He should have been left exactly where he landed! I was a lil shit in my opinion!

Итак. Селин. Родная дочь Каси. Именно для нее должна быть "мягкая адаптация". То что могло бы помочь Кальвину не могло быть предоставлено, потому что "мягкая адаптация" уже занята.
Для примера. У человека прихватил живот. Он бежит в туалет. Дергает ручку. А туалет занят человеком облегчающего себе жизнь.

1) it drives me insane how many people cannot understand their behaviors and believe that Casi abused and starved this little guy. If anything, she gave him too much and he doesn’t have the self regulation skills to not be a little a**hole about life.

Umm. . But Casi DID abuse and starved Calvin. Calvin was born April 15. Casi kidnapped him on April 15, after his bio mom rejected him. She starved him, almost to death (wouldn’t let him nurse) from April 15 - April 18th or 19th. She then started abandoning him daily on April 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th and April 27. On April 28th, she abandoned him for good.
That’s not even mentioning the times she ignored his cries, bit him and/or yanked his head back.
Oh btw, Casis behavior with Calvin is an instinctual one for this species. A higher ranking female will sometimes kidnap and starve a lower ranking baby. That’s a scientific fact about this animal.

As you said they are guided by instinct only and I agree but I feel Casi fed, (although not much), protected and kept him alive for 16 or17 days. Any time she got physical with him was when he did something wrong and she was teaching him. He didn't catch on so the discipline became more harsh. But I don't see abuse. Jmo.

Did you know Macaques share 93% of human DNA? That means these monkeys are 93% human and why they’re a lot like us.
Have you seen Daniela’s life story? If not, I strongly encourage you to watch it. It kinda goes to prove how the hierarchy works and what’s done to loud babies. . and their mothers.
Even scientists speak of “abuse” in the behaviors of these monkeys though. There are scientific studies online I would really recommend you to read. After all, the true experts know more than any of us do on TH-cam. 🤷🏾♀️
Casi did keep him alive but just enough for him to fight another day. She never fed him *consistently* so he could be strong, grow or develop. You see a couple 10 minute videos and automatically exclaim Calvin was getting what he needed. 🙄 She started abandoning him with Cheko at 6 days old. He could not eat when he was with Cheko. These babies weigh less than a pound at birth and is why they all need to nurse very, very frequently. Casi starved Calvin the first few days she had him… the whole time she was teaching him he didn’t belong on her chest. She was giving him and telling him he had an inevitable death sentence ahead IF he stayed with her and he knew it. . which is why he tried going to every monkey that sat near Casi during this time. At day 3 of Calvin’s life, he was near death then. I still wonder how he came back from that deepened weakened state. 🤷🏾♀️ Notice that Celine didn’t try going to other monkeys? Because Celine was getting what she needed from Casi, Calvin wasn’t. Calvin’s instincts, as well as hunger, told Calvin that being with Casi wasn’t “right” and he was not going to survive being with her!
If you continue to watch, Casi never encouraged his survival. She ignored him eating on occasion yes but she never encouraged it. If she hadn’t let him feed, Calvin could’ve put her and her daughter in danger. She had already been warned by the big male due to Calvin’s constant crying. He lived days… not months. Days. She kept him long enough to ensure he was dependent on her for survival and she dumped him… and yes! Casi was very well aware he needed to nurse.
Had Calvin been getting what he needed, he would’ve been as laid back as Celine was. He was obviously a strong and smart baby monkey because if not, there’s no way he could’ve survived his days with Casi for as long as he did.
The hate for Calvin on these videos is unreal. Yes, I make light of situations sometimes but I don’t hate him… and never have. People are cruel and unjustifiable in their claims with this newly born animal. Calvin didn’t want an ounce more than any other baby monkey wants and he’s not at fault for the situation he was in. If anything, you would think his situation would warrant peoples empathy and compassion but it doesn’t. According to 99.9% of these constant watchers, Calvin was a “parasite,” a waste of life, dumb, stupid etc.. I’ve seen it all. What’s a “parasite,” are those watchers!
Keep watching and remember, every twitch, jerk and body movement means something to them. If you want to know the real truth, you will find it just as I did.

Everything in him tells him that he HAS TO get away from Chiko (the kidnapper) and he finally gets away…. But no one is there to rescue him. ☹️😆 He can’t eat while he’s with Chiko and Chiko isn’t going to have the maternal instincts for care that a “mom” would. Under normal circumstances, it’s dangerous for a baby Macaque to be away from mom at Calvin’s age because a kidnapper isn’t going to have the maternal instincts to protect the baby from harm. Calvin was extremely lucky that Cheko was so docile. He could’ve been stuck with a DD type of personality
Chiko is a juvenile so NO MILK. You should at least know that much. Calvin is starving to death while Chiko plays at being a mom and all you vulture cameramen film it all and do nothing to help Calvin....which you should since you caused all this to begin with.
When "nurse" is used in their titles it means "take care of." The title will say "breast nutrition" or "milk" when they are talking about feeding lol. It's a translation issue.

There was not a thing wrong with Calvin other then he was dehydrated and starving, No other monkey would take him because of that reason, they could smell he was dehydrated starving and one step away from dying
