    What do I do for a living? Make TH-cam videos.
    Can you wheelie? No, I suck.
    Are you fast? Sort of. I suck mostly though.

    Ok, Bro. From an experienced Maserati owner, your gas smell is the classic fuel pump plastic cracked on top, you will find raw gas, pooled on the top… Danger will Robinson! Stop driving, until you fix that!. 2nd.. buy the bypass seat sensor, to fool the system, to think there is a passenger, in the front seat.. Safety tip #2. If the SRS or airbag light is on while driving, it will NOT inflate any airbags, until you bypass the seat, and have it on full time.. I would rather have the passenger air bag go off with an empty seat, in a crash, and survive it.. Lastly, you have a Low Voltage signal, because that cheap ass interstate battery is crap, replace it, the cars are VERY sensitive to voltage, and don’t EVER jump start them. Charge a battery off the car, and re install a fresh charged one.. And yes, with basic logical maintenance, they are extremely reliable, just pay attention, and don’t accept a “warning” as a remedy. Fix the issues!!! BTY, the check engine light, is always on, because guess what??? It’s Checking the Engine!! That’s what it goes off.. Worry when it doesn’t!!!!! If it doesn’t, then usually the PRE CAT is the culprit.. good luck, FIX those fuel Pumps! About 1K each…. Jeff

      Jeff , I have an airbag failure (red light) on my 2008 GT ...am I reading your comment correctly that NO airbags will deploy until that issue is corrected? Thanks for the help I will stop driving it if that is the case.

    • @jeffsousa399
      @jeffsousa399 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@pelu7104That is correct, but you just need to locate the yellow plug under the passenger seat, and research the bypass adapter online for the car, or at minimum, find out what .50 cent resistor you can solder in the wires going to the car harness. It’s usually just the passenger seat weight sensor.. Good Luck! Jeff

    In my 2004 M3, I have to drive for a few miles after resetting TPMS, so it’s likely the same for Maserati. Also, I cannot imagine having a temperature controlled facility for a workplace - this garage IS your workplace and it should be comfortable year round so you can be productive. Don’t listen to people whose use case would be the occasional uncomfortable day working on their cars. Keep up the great work John Ross!

    We had a Durango that had the gas smell and it was the evap system. I think it resulted from overfilling with gas (not stopping when the pump clicked off). I tried refilling the charcoal canister myself but the garage had to replace various components in the end which was quite pricey for what it was.

    The passenger seat weight sensor grid thing is probably from someone climbing across and putting their knee in the middle of the passenger seat because the drivers door handle is broken and they didn't think to use the outside handle. One problem lead to the other.

    • @floodx4947
      @floodx4947 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, the gas cap can, and does cause a lot of EVAP codes. But on most modern cars, there are separate codes to help find them. You will have a 'small leak' code, that is common for gas cap, or 'large leak' that will indicate something other than the cap. Also, I would not expect a major fuel smell from just a cap. Honestly ... I would not expect it from just a canister either, but I have ZERO experience with Maserati, so maybe it can cause a smell.

For some reason, white looks the worst once the rust starts eating it up, and then leaves drip stains hat look pretty bad. I owned a 08 GT and bought it with 14k miles in 2019. I put 15k miles on it and did a 25k maintenance on it ($3,500) dealership and experienced very little to no problems with it. I feared the cam variator issue and when I started it one morning that dreaded clatter happened. It was brief but after getting estimates of $9-12k to get it fixed. I sold it ASAP. I'm getting ready to purchase a 2013-15 when the variators were fixed. I loved the car! I'm told all the bugs were fixed after 2012????? ANy input would be appreciated.

    Maserati are parts bin cars…..pull it apart and google the part number.
    It’ll be Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep……
    For the seat measure the resistance of the drivers seat whilst occupied, and run a matching resistor across the circuit.
    On the down side your airbags will deploy even if not occupied, but that is a price I’d be willing to pay…….

      @@themaseratiinn5743 baaaaaaaaahahahaha…….you are delusional…….it’s made by the Fiat Chrysler group, was thrown together in record time, and as all modern Maseratis is an absolute pile of crap.
      (As is your deluded opinion)

    You need to buy a handle from a UK car. I did it with a door mirror from a Chrysler voyager. Shipping was more than the mirror though.

    The front orange indicators make the car look dated, but still a very nice car.

    That's the normal tire wear for a maserati.
    I only put Michelin or pirelli on my cars.
    The cable for the door is an easy fix, just take off the door panel and you'll figure it out
