Lovely technique - cannot wait to try it. The stamping tool (aka your alabaster) is called a Chuckie Tool. It was created by Chuck Meadows for Gina K. to help with arthritic hands. He is so kind, he declined to patent it and told anyone who wanted to make one and even sell, to have at it.
Well you learn something new every day… on some sites in the UK they are called Pressure Tools and someone told me that the original tool for use in printing is called a ’baren’! What am I going to do with all this information I’m gaining? 😁😁😁
Believe me, of course! lol Go on Gina's site. There are a ton of photos of how everyone made one of their own. I made some for others using a furniture slide that had a felt type material on the bottom and a large spool.
Most of my square cards are around 6 x 6ins I do make smaller ones at 5 x 5 ins and sometimes even smaller ones 4 x 4 ins, but I cut all my card bases from sheets of A4 card which measure 29cms x 21cms this video shows sone of the card bases I often use. th-cam.com/video/yHNCdjknKD0/w-d-xo.html

Thank you again for an really interesting and beautiful demonstration. I think the burnishing tool (your alabaster tealight holder) is called a 'baren' and is used in printing and lino cutting.
Thank you, I'm delighted to have had the elucidation... I think the stamping platform people call their little plastic versions 'pressure tools' I think baren is much better! 😃😃😃
That's such an interesting technique. I like the dimension it gives to the design. I'm also interested in how you mounted one of your vellum pieces and created that impressed area around the frame. I hope you'll demonstrate that or link to where you already have. Thanks for such interesting and instructive videos!
to make glue invisible behind vellum = put some glue (the white kind) on an extra surface dilute with a LITTLE bit of water and then apply this EVENLY and THINLY all over the vellum - stick the vellum down - a good idea is to put some weight ( a book maybe) on it for a little while a glue stick might also work

If you use a dye ink like the one I used, it dries fairly quickly and being on the reverse can't be touched by anything to risk smearing!
Lovely idea.
