Keilan, you have such an amazing eye for color and your work just amazes me. I look forward to your tutorials. I bought the 2 mica powder sets with your link. Thank you for inspiring me to start experimenting in polymer clay ☺
Awe, thank you 🥰 Thank you for using my link, they really are lovely powders. I'm thrilled I inspired you to play around with clay! Please feel free to join my private subscribers group on Facebook facebook.com/share/UUd7Yr3yFr4eKSQY/
I loved this video. Even the ones you didn’t like, looked great. They were just different from what you were trying to achieve. Remember happy accidents. Thank you for sharing.
Love that you do different version of the same process. Please more cernit metallic and meyspring mica tutorials. I'm in love with cernit pearl clay mixed with translucent.
I know that this was a month ago but I’m going to comment anyway cause it will help to circulate the video and I want to let you know that you really do inspire me and I would like to say thank you for all of your beautiful work, I love it all ❤ I went ahead and ordered some of the mica powder and I can’t wait till it arrives. You are a very talented lady and I hope you have a wonderful day 😊
What a lovely comment Karen 🥰 Thank you so very much! I'm so glad you feel inspired to create. If you're on Facebook please think about joining my private group facebook.com/share/UUd7Yr3yFr4eKSQY so you can post photos of your creations with me. Meyspring mica powders are not only beautiful colour wise, but if you watched my last tutorial th-cam.com/video/Z1BmDq4Cjng/w-d-xo.htmlsi=xt4LDJsZPC9lORd1 you'll see it's also a mica powder that bonds with the clay as a surface treatment. I know you won't be disappointed when it arrives! Again, thank you for your very sweet comment and I hope to see your creations as well ❤️ Bonne nuit for me but I hope you're having a wonderful day ☺️
Thank you. I really enjoyed this especially when you were showing the finished pieces you were very excited...I could here it in your voice.I hope you have a million reasons to smile 😊😊
Instead of a baby wipe to 'clean up the mess', I'd've used some white clay to scoop up the mica powder...I've gotten some epic results doing just that.
Such interesting pieces. I haven’t tried mica powders or translucent clays but I'm getting ideas. How do you know how dark the piece will be since its so light before it's baked? FYI - Chalcedony is pronounced kal-sed-nee.
Thanks Kathy 🥰 Good question! If the mica powder is applied on the surface of the clay the colours remain somewhat the same. But, if mixed into the clay the colours look a lot lighter because the translucent is white (cernit) before baking. The colours LOOK much lighter because they are under layers of translucent. But in saying that, translucent does darken slightly when cured, even if mixed into polymer clay. I use Meyspring mica powders and I have made samples of each of the collection sets (photo shown in the intro of this video), with the powders brushed on both black and white clay, and also mixed into translucent. If you watch my latest video th-cam.com/video/ybriW4X3Srk/w-d-xo.html I use the mica powders mixed into the translucent, and come out pretty much similar in colour, but their brilliance is muted. I hope this helps a little? And thanks for the pronunciation tip 😉

Hi, great tutorial! May I ask what do you use the white alcohol ink for? Thank you!
Gracias Ana 🥰 The first couple of pendants I made I mixed the micas into the clay. With the round pendant I just brushed the mica powders onto the clay, but I felt the mica colours on top of the translucent alone were too blended. I added the white alcohol ink to brighten up the colours and separate the layers. I hope that isn't too confusing.

@@keipfr, it’s sort of another layer, but you could never get such a thin one with polymer clay … Thank you!

Thank you Sandra 🥰 I was excited because I didn't have to do it again. You just made me smile! I hope you have a million reasons to smile too! ❤️
I just came across you and your work. I’m very intrigued! What clay are you using? That white seems to be just gliding off.
It's Cernit translucent polymer clay mixed with white pearl mica powder. It glides off because I'm using a very sharp tissue blade.
Instead of a baby wipe to 'clean up the mess', I'd've used some white clay to scoop up the mica powder...I've gotten some epic results doing just that.
Great tip Jerry 🥰

Exactly! I often use alcohol ink instead of clay for a very fine layer of contrast. No air pockets to worry about either 😉
