Stunning, simply stunning, I'm nearly 65 and I am still in love with Deacon Blue, thank you so much for your music, you helped me create so many beautiful memories through your music, God bless xx👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🏴🏴🏴
Born and raised in Glasgow, I moved abroad in 1982 and later discovered Deacon Blue when my brother gave me Raintown as a Christmas present. It's one of my favourite albums that always makes me nostalgic. I think the songs and musicians are great but Lorraine's contribution -so original and inspired- takes them to the next level and gives the band its musical edge. Love you all. Thank you so much for helping to keep me Scottish!
I love Deacon Blue my favourite band ever Raintown Dignity Chocolate Girl Fergus sings the blues so many hits Ricky and Lorraine still look amazing been to see them many times.
always reminds me of the west coast of Scotland, just a very emotional song for me about home. its just indescribable how much emotion this song evokes. I guess thats magic key to all great songs
DB - A constant in my life forever with such a catalogue of wonderful songs penned by one of this countries finest songwriters. Looking forward to Brighton in September for another fix 😊
Deacon blue is an amazing band , who many people don't realise had many hits and at one time competed with the very best, knocking Madonna off the top of the charts. Dignity, chocolate girl, real gone kid, loaded, when will you make my phone ring were all really big hits in the UK and they did well abraod aswell. Truly classy band and underated along with prefab sprout
Timeless. Both the song & the sound. A 'real' band that can sing & play instruments guitar & synth after 36 years since this songs release. Can Simon Cowell's Karaoke Singer Brigade that has wrecked the artistry in making music stand that test of time. No they are lucky to last 36 days until they disappear. He has a lot to answer for that man. Deacon Blue, Ricky & Lorraine are a class act who have always been fabulous live. Still writing great songs. Legends in the true sense of the word. Cheers for the memories guys. I was 15 in 87, now 51
Liked them but wasn’t a massive fan. A friend of mine took me to see them live at Barrowlands Glasgow in 1993. I was pleasantly surprised. Amazing live band. I went to see them again at Barrowlands in 1994 on their penultimate concert before they took a break for a few years. Fantastic.
Can anyone help me understand why bands can pull out such great hits in a short space of time, then nothing, youd expect people to get better at their craft?

What is so significant here is that they are so modest and unassuming! They deserve their success!

Dinghy to ship - was it all in the imagination!?
biggest scottish band of the 80s and 90s?? uhhhhh ever hear of SimpleMinds?
They were never a " Rock " band ever they were a pop group / new Romantic band. and great at it
I don't know how you'd categorise them, kind of Van Morrison/Aztec Camera. Certainly not New Romantic.
That lady interviewer is not interested at all. She is not very good.
nope, Simple Minds were
They were decent, but no, they weren’t the biggest Scottish band of the 80s or the 90s😊
Simple Minds?

Blimey , Lorraine's put on some timber.
🤣
eh she's always looked like that curvey in the 2013 conrcent on you tube too
She’s really not that big you make it sound like she’s enormous - she’s just older, it’s what happens.
Think you need glasses ,she’s beautiful,if you can’t something nice keep your mouth shut !
Keep promoting gambling with the lottery little man that’s all your good for
I should’ve listened bogeys advice…..instead of spending all my dough on thai bar girls

Biggest Scottish band in the 80s and 90s. What rubbish, Simple Minds were in the 80s and Primal Scream were in the 90s.
And runrig
And Wet Wet Wet
Saw deacon blue in 94, very polished act, good gig. But they are not in the same class as simple minds or the greatest scottish band. BIG COUNTRY!
@@colingeddes2172 Totally agree!
Pricless memories.
They can actually sing😂😂
