  • Sean Percival and Robert Neivert from 500 Startups discusses how to raise a seed round for tech startups.
It’s a lot easier to fundraise if you have something to show that you are being successful already. So if you are really early then have a really good vision statement, you have a good story, a problem you solved. You have to start with that before you can start fundraising.

We're a startup janitorial services company in downtown Nashville, TN and we're in the business of serving our local business communities. We're currently seeking $10,000 in funding from a VC, but our most important tactics are building relationships and networks with investors in general, mostly in the Music City area.

'How to raise a seed round' - 36:48 'I do't do seeds' :D - but seriously a lot of this is very Series A advice esp. going into detailed metrics, don't forget a lot of companies need the app + dev + initital roll out covered first before they even can get metrics

After getting into minute 15:00, I have realized that this is quite simply Business Development just in a different silo. This is encouraging, at least for me.

Shit if it’s that simple invest of in my idea I got a guaranteed +$100 million minimum exit strategy, I don’t mind breaking off a percentage.

This seems way too complicated. Trust in God, believe in your idea, and everything will work itself out. The success or funding of your venture isn't solely dependent on the good graces of a VC
