    Fantastic work. Love the composition, repetition of movement in shots, calmness of the picture being in perfect harmony with the audio.

      Thanks a lot Simon! I'm always spending some time trying out different clips to see which clip will fit the music best at various points. Glad to hear you liked it! :-)

      @@jorntommeras two birds with one stone! Had no idea of Ayreon existence - and that's quite interesting music journey. Low flying with the drone makes interesting point of view - both found thanks to your clip ;) By the way - how did you manage to capture all those places? Read there was "no go" for drones in all National Parks in USA. Planing to do business trip soon and wanted to quit for few days our of Vegas. Can't decide whether take my drone or not if I can't capture the most interesting places with it. Or maybe beginning of April is not high tourist season and I would be good with flying? ;) Cheers

      @@OffRoadProwler i filmed with the drone in the Caineville / Hanksville area in southern Utah. You have national parks within an hour or two in all directions, but this area is just wilderness, outside everything. There was noone around, so going with a drone is okay in this area.
      Although, in my opinion, these areas should be included in, or become a separate national park - the beautiful landscape is just too fragile and beautiful to be used for motorsports which is the status today.
      BTW, the clips inside the national parks may look like drone clips but are actually time lapse videos taken with a SLR camera with ultra wide angle lens on a 1 meter long time lapse dolly, less than a feet above the ground :-)
      April is a good time to go, might be cold at nights, but you avoid the masses.

      Thank you Jack! Those storm clouds were really coming to life with time-lapse photo! Hoping to be able to see the sunrise from the same spot in a month or so :-)

    awesome video! I'm making a "10 Most Beautiful Places in South Dakota" video and would like to use a little segment of this video in it. Do I have permission to use your work?

    Drones are not permitted near the Mars Research Station and is clearly marked. Surprised you included the footage.

      Thanks for your feedback. The drone footage is from 10 years ago, when there was no such regulations. 🙂

    Awesome time-lapse. Need any drone permission to fly in these area?

    • @jorntommeras
      @jorntommeras  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Edi Chen! :-) No permissions needed as I'm aware of, if you're outside the national parks. In this film, footage from inside national parks is time-lapse videos done with regular SLR cameras and a 100 cm long time-lapse dolly. Would be nice to have a permit at some places though :) Which drone do you fly?

      @@jorntommeras The video is superb, just add Moonscape Overlook, Utah to my travel list for later of this year. I don't own any drone yet, but like to try DJI Mavic 2 Pro for the future work.

    • @jorntommeras
      @jorntommeras  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Moonscape Overlook is otherworldly. I guess it won't be long before it's overrun by the Instagram crowds, but for now, you can actually hope to be there all alone for the sunrise/sunset.
      The Mavic 2 Pro looks like a beast, I currently have the Mavic Air, which is much smaller and lighter to carry, but still has a pretty good camera. Battery time is an issue, though. 21 minutes battery time often means just 10 minutes actual filming time, the rest you'll spend getting in the right position or finding the way home to land before battery runs out. Guess you can film at least 20 minutes with the 2 Pro!

      Do you mean badlands in general, or the national park?
