When you type in your text, you have a black background. I have a checkerboard background when working on text so that the text background is transparent. This makes it very hard to edit and type. However, your black background is transparent as well when you add it to your image. Am I missing something?
In the text editor i activate show background so that whatever background that is on the project monitor will be display in the text editor. However you can always uncheck it to go back to checker like yours. Even when activate the background in the text editor the text still will have transparent BG. Hope that helps

How can you create the text effect you show at 0:05 ?
