This is the third movie with Ryan and Emma. The others are "Crazy Stupid Love" and "Gangster Squad". The first has my favorite bedroom scene because it is just fun.
my college girlfriend broke my heart. I didn't date for 7 years after that drama, which looking back was a good thing, because I focused on my career. now, I'm about to celebrate my 27th anniversary with my wife. but I have to admit, every once in a while, I do still think of my college girlfriend, and wonder 'what might have been'.... when I saw "LLL" in the theaters, I was by myself, and when I left the theater and got in my car to drive home, I was in my car with tears running down my face. great movie and it should've won 'best picture'...
Great movie to watch. It's an homage not only to movie musicals of the past but also to the city of Los Angeles. This movie's ending sequence reminds me of the movie "An American in Paris" with its ending montage of ballet and dancing that sort of reflects the plot up to that point. I think it was movies like this in our film history that one hoped La La Land would end in a happier note than it did. Nevertheless, it's a great update to movie musicals that captures the elements of old and brings it to the present. All of the musical scenes are still fantasy but it's such a great storytelling medium to express emotions and feelings without being bogged down with plain dialogue. Still, the rest of the script was perfect, especially the dinner argument scene. Strongly recommend a watch of An American in Paris if not seen yet. Enjoyed your reactions.
There is another film with Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone playing together called “Crazy, stupid love” you definitely should check it out!! Good movie! Steve Carell is main character too!

No one in your group seems to be having any sort of real reaction to the most intense and emotional moments in this movie. I saw a girl's reaction to this movie just yesterday where she was vocal and emotional about that argument scene during their dinner at Sebastian's apartment, and you all were just silent during it. That's not entertaining at all. Hopefully you three at least have some sort of visceral reaction to the ending!
