    How depressing to view this while vividly remembering life in 2012...

    Wished they would’ve done a 2020 cafe for Trump v Biden election . That would be intense.

    THANK YOU FOR THE HIGH QUALITY PANEL. GREAT JOB!
    I am sick of panels that are "balanced" only because they have one democrat and one republican discussing the scoring of cheap political points.

  • @zyxabc007
    @zyxabc007 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    This panel was fantastic. This entire discussion, in my opinion, was better than the debate. Amy Goodman, Clarence Page, and Bruce Fein were my favorite panelist(s they made great points. Amy made me wish she was running for President. Al Jazeera puts our news organizations in the US to shame, I cant stand FOX, CNN, and MSNBC (and others) all they do is present one sided views and distorted facts like the joke that is the O'Reilly factor. We need more programs like these in the US.

    I can't say I agree with most of it but I completely agree with the last sentence, I feel like they use the people as a mean to do what they want but aren't actually their to serve the people like we would want them to

    Very good discussion indeed! I supported the Arab Spring form the very beginning exactly because I wanted to see the issues being discussed in such a manner. We all know that this particular kind of criticism against the US would never be shown on some dictator's official channel, right? :)

    Well I think at this moment the world does depend on America and its economy. However, the question 10-20 years down the road, will still be that way?

  • @thedrumm3rguy
    @thedrumm3rguy 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Notice how the interviewees avoid directly saying "no, america isn't the best", because to directly say that is a cultural taboo; because it is understood such a statement would bring down scorn and accusations of unpatriotic behaviour.
    This demonstrates where the level of true discussion and discourse, let alone free speech really is in the US.
    From the viewpoint of another western nations the US can seem socially very juvenile.

  • @Vamavid

  • @SidyartBG

    well, let me tell you something else, a lot of people would feel terrified if suddenly China or Russia happen to "deal" with them...

  • @squishycommander
    @squishycommander 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's true. Even though America is in decline, the entire world still depends strongly on it. If America suddenly didn't exist as we know it, the whole world will fall into economic decline and chaos.

    When they say she was the first "African American communications director", I assume they means she communicated with African Americans, not she is an African American. There is more African American in Mr Bean than there is in her.

    the usa is going to have to step back on it's military spending. it's a racket and it's a difficult racket to leave because the military industrial complex employs quite a lot of people and people can make quite a lot of money working for them. what new jobs are we going to give these highly skilled workers? we also need to up the ante some more on the government and let them know that they serve us and not the lobbyists/corporatists.
