we have a great group from the 4th generation, all with unique talents, yg always finds the right idols and who are in the company vibe i'm shocked how talented they are
They were in consideration as part of the Baby Monster Project, but over time they could still be removed from consideration if they were not providing what YG was looking for. You may not have noticed, but some of the girls there had blurred out faces. They ended up not being part of the debut team. It looks like the project may have had 10 girls in total. Ultimately cut down to 7.
Treasure Project was divided into 4 teams. Treasure A, Treasure B, Treasure C, and Treasure J. The debut line-up was selected amongst the 4 teams. If you don't want to watch Treasure Box I understand, but still recommend lol.

Ahyeon is the same with me, it's more hard when i learn english from school, i watched a lot of movies, it's more easier when i listen to what they speak and read the subtitle, i know my english is not that very good but i improved a lot from watching movies, and also my pronounciation is improved too because i used to hear how they speak the word, but a lot of people find it hard to communicate with real person, cause they never practice to speak, i hope you understand what im saying hehe
But that’s seriously impressive to know! I thought that would be more difficult but that’s awesome! :)
Same with me i didn't learn English from school that much because my classmates don't speak English same with my teachers don't speak English that much too... So instead i opt to read magazine, newspaper, watch cartoon network, sesame street, english news, series, talk shows, variety etc... I can speak English but not fluent especially everytime i encounter American's some of them have the accent and talk too fast that comes from their noses and I'm like i need a subtitle hahaha and he also couldn't understand me well but i have a neutral English accent.

you know YOU'RE IN THE GROUP ONLY WHEN YG SAYS YOU"RE IN IT...before that nothing is certain whether you will be dropped or selected to be in the debut group... you are a trainee of 5-6 years doesn't mean you will be in the debut line-up just like how YG choose CHIQUITA over some other trainee who had trained over 5 years... as far as I know for this babymonster project YG specifically had selected 10 girls competing for the debut position...
These introduction videos were filmed in october-november 2021 so that's why they weren't sure of their debut :))
that's Chiquita's mom, she looks young, she's 41 years old, His older brother was born in 2006, from The Star Idol, Actor and 789 TRAINEE.
I think there's different method on debuting a new group, as in YG, usually they make a debut group project by choosing certain number of trainees and cut down the number for the final line up or make somekind of group battle. BIGBANG, BabyMonster & Blackpink are the example of the first one, there are initially 6 members of BIGBANG, 10 members of Baemon Project and 5-7 in Blackpink Project. Winner got chosen by the group battle called WIN Project against iKON (or called Team B at that time). iKON are WIN Team B plus 2 new trainee that put into new survival called Mix & Match. Treasure Project are pretty complex since YG has alot of trainee at that time, so they split into 4 teams Treasure A, B, C & J, then each trainee compete, individually and as a group, for place in TREASURE temporary lineup, that keep getting reduced for each stage from 7 to 5 and finally became 13 because YHS change his mind from debuting only 1 group to a 1 big group with 2 sub unit group.
and yeah this intro video took like 1-2 years ago and they supposed to be 10 member and i belive 3 of them who didnt make it also make video like this too and u can see they being blured in some of other intro video, and tht why chiquita didnt have that many video of monthly evaluation bcz the intro toke years ago
In Asa's introduction from 2018 she was 12 in year 6, which is like grade 6. Same thing goes with "year 2".

As a German who has been learning English since first grade, I can say that I learned most of it by watching films and reading and not at school.
I am currently learning Korean at home and Latin at school
and I have to say that English has been the easiest language for me so far.
although in all cases understanding is easier than speaking
The most recent content in these videos are from early 2022. When Chiquita met Lisa it was 2021, same for Haram birthday's scene. So when Haram say "if she debuts", it's because she didn't know if it would be the case. They did the interviews as trainee, not as debuting idols. They are probably preparing for debut since middle of 2022 as we have no recent footage of them except the opening when they are shooting concept photos.

Yes these were recorded previously but you are always a trainee and can be ousted until debut. They are pretty locked in now that they are doing these intro videos and they seem very talented. Looking forward to seeing them preforming their music soon.
Update: well after today’s release I guess this didn’t age well. Maybe not locked in. YG loves to mess with the fans I see. He took a break and nothing changed
They have this “BABYMONSTER PR0JECT” which consist of 10 Trainees… Within the 10 trainees, YG will pick the who will debut as BABYMONSTER
This was probably filmed a year or two ago so they were still technically trainees. A person start out in the agency as a regular individual trainee. They train for a few months before they get evaluated. Trainees are then placed into groups. These groups are shuffled around to test chemistry and see how good they sound and look together. If they're improving and if they match the idea the company has in mind they'd get placed into a debut project. As you can see, there were a few trainees with blurred faces. The original debut plan prob consisted of 10 or so members (to mirror TREASURE), as we can YG filmed these videos while those trainees were still in the project. YG wouldn't have recorded introduction videos if they weren't pretty much set. But things change and for multiple reasons, even if they're in the debut project, someone can still get dropped. Instead of 10, YG decided on 7.

Yes. The Clips are when they were Trainees and getting Assessed for this Baby Monster Project. There are usually alot of Camera's around and footages for Trainees showing what they do, how they practice, improved, even there behavior.
And If you Noticed, there were Faces that were Blurred. There were 10 Trainees and 7 only Made the Final Cut after the Assessment. YG and all the Teachers and Artists was evaluating them in the Monthly and that Final performance at the End.
Also, Ahyeon was speaking Chinese when she Talked about BP. The Highlight there was her fluency on Speaking another Language.

Re: training and debut... Well, this "babymonster project" started 2018. It was already sure that the name of the grp is babymonster, just the members were yet to be determined. Trainees came from the old pool of yg trainees and those who auditioned in 2018. Their training sessions were documented/filmed. That's why there are footages of the girls with other trainees. The ones witb blurred faces are those who did not make the cut. I think the 2021 evaluation held on yg auditorium and attended by yg artists like winner, blackpink is the last evaluation and then yg producer along other producers, ygx dancers and yg artists will decide who will make the final and official lineup.
As of writing or ever since the next movement promotional video was released, the baemon members are fixed. They have already signed the contract. It signals the start of introducing them to the public and media, one by one. We're now just waiting for the exact date of their debut. Not sure if there are more introducing videos coming or if they have filmed their music video already.
The debut day would first begin with a press conference, pocket media interviews, live countdown to mv premiere, and then the premiere of their first music video itself.
My understanding is they are all trainees until the formal and public (on TH-cam) member announcement is made. You may have noticed watching Chiquita's intro video that during a dance moment there are 10 girls in the V formation. 3 of those girls had their faces blurred out. The other seven are who we now know as Baby Monster. At some point those 3 were eliminated from the group. The chemistry and synergy of these 7 young ladies is amazing.

About the monthly evaluation and big auditorium .. That probably their recent monthly evaluation .. Cause Hoony winner show the hall on his TH-cam video.. He said that the auditorium hall are new and mostly uses for monthly evaluation for trainess before this they usually did the monthly evaluation at small practice room... Can't wait to see their debut cause I've waiting for this since 2020.. Not just them but YG are famous with monster trainees.. Mostly trainees who decide to out from YG and join reality show are so talented and you can tell that they're train at YG bcs of the strong aura,there's a few ex trainees who spilled that inside YG dungeon are full with strong and talented trainees. YG are known by the strict rule to debut, they only pick the best to debut and when it near the introduction they'll become more and more demand.. Fyi Babymonster actually setup to debut as 10 members plus hanbyul 05, Hyerin 06 and chaeeun 06 (before setup to 10 there's also Kang Seojin but she left yg earlier) thats why you can see some blurry face.. Babymonster are really scary like imagine a group full with ace.. Nahh they're crazy talented.. The expectations are so high ngl.. Babymon probably 5gen leader since knetz saying bp999 are 5gen so long with group debut this year

They are the debuting members, the clips in this introductions where taken during their trainee days and monthly evaluation. The clips and interviews are taken every monthly evaluation I believe. All trainees have done this but only the debuting members are being shown.
Yeah I get that with Chiquita. I believe it's called the xfactor. She oozes star quality.
these tryouts videos were all still during the tryouts, you can see people in the room blanked out because they didn't make it, so only until they announced the 7, they didn't know if they made it. tough tough selection process.
Remember that A in asia is pronounced as AH not EY... that's very western A haha 😅

Also, they consider "debut" on the day of the song release.. like example May 2, 2023 -- that's their debut date and thats how they consider ending their trainee days. (Not real debut date)
My daughter first language is English bcoz we let her listen to English songs and watch English Children show. She is more fluent in English than our own Language. Children can learn fast even just by listening at an early age. Their brains are like sponge that absorbs everything easily.
Since none of the recordings go past November 2021, my guess is when the interviews were taken they still did not know they would make the final cut. If so, somewhere there are recordings of the members that never made it, unless they got burned :P
Yes, at this point they are in the group, you have to remember these videos are a compilation of their training years so not all of it is "current". If you notice, some of the group shots have some faces blurred out, aka they didn't make the group, so they are still a trainee or has left the company

When Asa says year 2, it is equal to 2nd grade. I thought the same thing when I first watched this but remembered that in Japan they call it year instead of grade. And yes, Asa is pronounced as ah-sa. In Japanese the vowels remain the same:
a = ah
e = eh
i = ee
o = oh
u = oo
I think that in this group you can have a bias. The more you learn about them it is hard to say you like one more than any of the others. They all had to work to make it into this group. I don't know if you also noticed that in the background of most of the shots that included all of the trainees that some of them were blurred out. That is the trainees that didn't make it to debut. Looks like there was 10 trainees originally in the group but only 7 made the final cut which shows how talented all of these girls are.
And yes, Ahyeon makes me feel like I should be doing more in life. 3 languages that she is fluent in, can sing and rap, also a really good dancer.
I think that these videos for the introduction was made before they were picked for the final line-up. Or I should say it was recorded before they announced the final line-up. I am sure that they have footage of the other three girls that didn't make it to the final line-up. But there many reasons that they don't debut. Some is because they didn't improve during the monthly evaluations but there are some that drop-out because it is mentally draining for them. Blackpink originally started with 10 trainees and ended with four for the final line-up. From what I saw in a few interviews with Blackpink members it seems that a lot of trainees dropped out partly because their debut kept being pushed back while I am guessing that others didn't make the cut.
Honestly, I think that each member member could be a soloist. The fact that they are all in one group, make me think that YG has assembled the Avengers of the K-pop world.
As someone who didn't live in America until like 6 years ago, but was fluent in English since I was could talk, I watched a lot of shows and movies in English growing up and sometimes I couldn't even understand what they were saying. It all sounded like gibberish to me. There really is no better way to become fluent in a language other than visiting the country or countries that language is spoken in.

Like Treasure and Blackpink, the line up changed every time depending on YG. They are supposed to be 10 but cut it to 7 last minute. Typical Yg.
All of them are talented and deserving to be part of the final lineup. Hopefully, YG Entertainment would debut all 7 as BABYMONSTER. My top 4 as of the moment are Ahyeon, Haram, Asa and Chiquita but appreciate and like these 7 girls.

The interviews are different. Some took place before they were confirmed as the lineup and others took place after the confirmation. That's why she said if
You can be part of the final lineup but can still get cut. I'm guessing for reasons like leaving on their own accord or their parents wanting them to leave, getting caught violating the trainee rules (no dating, drinking, smoking, etc.), or not passing background checks, among others.
as myself learning english by playing game (dota2) and watching movie, bcz i think its the easy way to learn english rather than learning in school i mean that what i thought, bcz on video game u always communicate with other espicially who is english speaker, but i still try to learn and fix my grammar

Okay! I'm following the project BM of YG ever since early 2020 when the video leak happened. To answer some questions and confusion you have🤭 Baby Monster is originally a 10 member group and they are due to debut in 2021 but for some reason it didn't happen and 3 members where cut and chiquita was added in. All the videos we see are from 2018 to 2021 where they are still being evaluated and not a fully formed group that's why you don't see any videos From 2022. Usually after being selected and finalize kpop group got a year or two to make music and MV and some do it even earlier as long as they have a confirmed members to be debuted. 😁🤭
Edit: it's just come in my mind what if the reason why they didn't debut in 2021 cuz chiquita was just a new member added back then? 🤔 Ohh! Conspiracy theory! 🤣🤣👀

I'm honestly not dissing your pronouncing at all, i'm terrible at languages, but why would Asa become Aysa, i see most American reactors do this, but not the few British i've seen so I'm curious? I know English Pronounce A as Ay when reciting the alphabet, but is there word where you pronounce it like that? I mean you say "and" not "Aynd". I get mispronouncing Pharita as Farita as that's how you pronounce most if not all ph words, but why would Asa stump you if no words that start with 'A' is actually pronounced with a 'Ay' sound?

Happy to explain for me, personally. It’s not a word, but there is an actor who’s name is Asa Butterfield, and his name is pronounced “Ay-Suh” and that, for me, is really the only time, aside from a character named Asa in the show King of the Hill who was also pronounced “Ay-Suh”, that I have seen that name. So, naturally, for me, seeing Asa would make me think that’s how it’s pronounced. I can only speak for myself.

I havent gotten much into Asian media other then the odd Japanese animé and tried to listen to some other K-pop without much success. I've just been fortunate that as a Norwegian i would pronounce most of their names that seem to be correct. I'm still confused about Ruka though, is it Ruka or Luka or a mix of both ><

@@renehoyvik hmm......as I know about Ruka, ( I learned some basic Japanese course ) There isn't any R pronunciation in Japanese language, for example " arigato " in writing, means thank you, but actually we say it ah-lee-ga-to. But my Japanese frds told me , L sound is between L and R sound, mix of both. R is more weaker than L when saying it.
( If there are any Japanese netizens, please correct me if I am wrong, I am appreciated.)
@@africawai3555 That actually makes sense to me, because in Asa's introduction video she says Ruka's name, but it didn't quite sound like a hard R or a hard L. Sounded like an L, but instead of putting the tip of your tongue to you upper gums, it sounded like you are trying to say the L but using the back of your tongue at the roof of your mouth making a soft, non rolling R+L combo.
