I just love this idea. I was pulling my covers off my softback books on my bookshelf, but now I think they may be too small. I have hardbacks I want to discard that would be awesome painted. Thanks for sharing. I am anxious to do my first one. God Bless You!
Oh my gosh thanks to you and your tutorial I bought everything and they came out so cute! I still need to decorate them but the wheels are turning for Christmas gifts!
So thankful I found your video :) I was about to spend about $25 on a set. We just moved and I've never been crafty, lol. I really want to make our new house pretty. Trying to find cute crafts I'm able to do, plus save money, lol. Thank you! :)
I just love them I am trying your link for the stamps but It says no URL can you tell me if the stamps were small or large so I can order them on the Canadian Michaels website 💕💕💕Thanks💕💕
I think they may be linked in my description but here is a link to if it will work... www.michaels.com/recollections-alphabet-and-numbers-wood-stamp-set/10185545.html
I love this. So helpful. It also touched me, thinking of you making that set for your mom. It made me think of my kids and how much I enjoy the thoughtful gifts they make.
Hi, thank you for sharing this tutorial! I have made my books and I am ready to stamp. I stamped one set last night and the stamped words are smearing. What can I do to not make the ink smear?
Make sure they dry before touching the ink. If they're smearing on their own, I'm wondering if the book uncovered was glue. I've had that happen before when I peeled off the cover, the binding had glue all on it and I couldn't use it (it was a hard surface vs. a paper-like porous surface)
Yes sometimes the corners do so I just put a small piece of double sided tape between the top page and the one underneath and it's perfect. I do tie twine around all my books for the look so I didn't even need to do the tape. Otherwise, the tape would work perfect.
The only thing I can think of is new ink pad. Try it out on a paper to see if it comes out darker. Also make sure to get enough ink on stamp and/or push stamp to book really well. Some books do take the ink better than others
@@oliviasnyder9991 , I think what it was. I pulled off the back of a hard cover book. Then I used matte white paint. So yesterday I brought on home hard back books again. But used glossy paint. I've got 2 coats on now . Going to let the dry over night 🤞🤞🤞
Oh I just melted when I saw the birthdays
thought of my grand babies😃🎉
Thank you for this tutorial. I was about to spend a bunch of money to buy some books on Etsy. Now I can make my own and as many as I can.
Awesome! They're so fun to bust out for gifts or seasonal decor! I'm glad you liked it!
Love the names with years. I love doing book projects.

When you paint the top page, does it not curl? Love this !

@@oliviasnyder9991 love your video ! Thanks for the quick response. Looking forward to more.
When I’m done the ink just smears off, even days after they’re done.. Is there anyway to set it to prevent that from happening?
Omg these are adorable!! I want to make these for my friend for her birthday ♡
Yes, I bet she'd love them! They're so easy and you can make more once you get the stamps and ink pad.
Love this video. Random question... where did you get your vase ?
I got it at Hobby Lobby!
I love this !!!!

Did you use real flowers or fake?

Have you had the issue of painting the spine and the ink turns blue?
I haven't. I've only painted one set though but it kept white and the ink was still black. Wonder if it's the ink pad?
What is stamp link please
What inkpad do you use?

What is the name of the stamp?
It's the Recollections brand. Not sure if there is a specific name for the particular stamp. I got it at Michaels.
Where are the stamps from?
Michaels. They're the Recollection brand.
Where did you purchase your stamps from?

Which ones from Michael’s?
I've tried this. My looks horrible. Idk how to fix it. 😭📕
Aww I'm sorry. Maybe paint it white so you can still use the books?
