Hey Will, I loved your face listening to that dissonance, discordant playing.... I'm an organist and that would send me running, I think they were trying to get rid of you 🙂
I think it was out of tune. I wasn't a fan of it. Ha ha They did get rid of me. I ended up in prison. Ha Thanks for watching.
@@NarrowboatWill That organ playing was 100% awful, there was no tune, God only knows what they were trying to do, break the organ and everyone's ear drums at the same time. I think you're great, I like boating but couldn't be doing it on my own, keep up the good work. 👍🏻
Thank you for the tour around Ripon. Lovely cathedral and fascinating museum visit. Well videoed, thanks. I bet much enjoyed this.
Wasn't it a lovely old place? Well worth the long trip up to get there. Thanks for coming to jail with me. Ha cheers
Hi Will
Did something go bump in the night, great volg, 👍👍👍👍
Ha ha ha I don't understand the music. I thought it should be uplifting and light. Unless they were practicing for a show🤔 I don't know Thomas. Stunning place.
That section listening to the organ was priceless. 😂😂 Love your channel!
Some bits sounded ok but others I thought the devil was coming. Arghh
Hi Will, what a beautiful place Ripon is. I really enjoyed the tour, apart from the organ playing. 🙉 The hornblower reminds me of Alexei Sayle a little. Pity the moorings are only 48 hours looks like you could spend a few days exploring.
I'm going to explain the Hornblower next vlog. He did look like Mr Sayle. Ha ha Wonderful place to visit Kath. Have a lovely day.
Nice one will, didn’t realise Ripon had so much to see! But I suppose that every city or town if you look around there is always lots of history to find 😊😊👍 Thanks Will
Stunning place Steve even with horror background music. Ha ha
Fab as ever Will. Thank you.
You're very welcome.
Lovely vlog so much history You getting educated or educating us either way very nice tc now Ann n David 👍😉
Hello Ann and David. Thankyou for coming along again. Have a wonderful day.
It’s amazing how the people could build such wonderful ornate church’s / buildings with no modern day tools. Thanks for sharing. Where I live in Canada is only about 160 years old and I’ve lived here for 43 yrs 🇨🇦
The building are amazing. We have a long history of religion. Perhaps your real history goes way. Perhaps your history goes way back before religion. Thankyou for joining me.
You really had me laughing, Will! Those faces you were making were hysterical, when those people were"playing(?)", the organ! Oh, dear lord, I'm a classical pianist, and I took organ lessons as well, for a while. Difficult instrument! But, that was not "playing", as much as, shall I say, "unfortunately playing?!"
Great vlog though, I loved the tour round Ripon! Thanks again, for a wonderful laugh!
I thought it was way out of tune but they seemed to enjoy it. It looked really difficult to play with feet and hands. Classical pianist, Wow! What a skill to have. Thankyou so much for tuning in Heather. Have a lovely day.
Yay! Youanaged to film the Hornblower.
Nice one e Will.
I will explain why he blows it next vlog Harry. Cheers
🙉the music !! Interesting video !!
Thankyou for tuning in. Have a great day.
Very interesting video, especially the prison portion. I wouldn't think they had very many repeat offenders,
I bet they came out fitter being on that tread mill all day. I wonder if the gym tread mills came from that. Ha ha
So glad you got to Ripon enjoy the next part of your journey we’ll be watching have fun
Thankyou so much Caroline.
All right Will.I reckon Alexie Sayle has got a side job blowing horns
Ha ha ha he looks like him and sounds abit like him. Next vlog he explains why he does it Sean. Cheers
Great phone voice Will. "During the week he is a hornblower and on sunday he solemnly plays the organ."
Always loved architecture and showing the insides of a cathedral and prison was just lovely, well maybe the prison not that much.
I wanted to do the workhouse as well but maybe next time. I went back again to the Cathedral. The atmosphere was great in there. They made me take my hat off the second time. Ha ha Cheers Robert
@@NarrowboatWill Your face was certainly telling us how much you enjoyed that organ, heh? So much you had to go back ... without it!
@@RobertSmith-zv1xo Yes i know. It was so loud and they were going for it. I shouldn't laugh, should i? Oh go on just a bit then. ha ha
@@NarrowboatWill At least you didn't buy tickets for it.
Your very best video ever, Will.
Your facial expressions at the organ are priceless!
Lovely BMW police bike, a classic.
And now I know when I got screwed.
Ha ha I bought one of those police bikes. It was a classic years ago. They're still going up in value. I'm glad you enjoyed the tour Umberto. Thanks for going to Gaol with me..ha
Really interesting vlog Will.Thank you
My pleasure Helen. Thanks for coming along.
Your vlogs keep getting better and better!
Very interesting and entertaining.
By the way, 'thank you' is two words.
Thank you for sharing your nose around the Ripon jail.
Thank you for letting me know. To late now I've always spelled it like that. Ha ha Thanks for coming along. I really enjoyed going to Gaol. Cheers
You would make a good tour guide Will enjoyed it as I've never been there xx
Thankyou Sally. I really enjoyed looking around. Take very good care
I was kind of hoping you'd get up & play that organ Will - show them how it's done 😁
Ha ha I don't know what they were playing. I didn't enjoy it but I bet people do. The deaf society days out love it.
Great video will, we need some of them prison procedures back might make some criminals to think twice about commiting crime again. To some people prison in this day is a holiday..
Imaging doing the tread mill all day? People pay now down the gym for that. I bet they came out fit from prison. Ha ha Yes it's a very softly approach now days. Thanks for watching Judie.
I feel touched, this was a very tactile.
Thanks for watching
Great video Will, have never been to Ripon but your video shows what a great place it is. Loved inside the Cathedral.
I went back to that Cathedral. It's got a lovely energy. It's nice to walk round without filming Glennis. Thankyou for tuning in again. Take good care.
Keep waiting for the theme to StarWars to start!
Love the old star wars. Gone abit strange now.
That short term mooring is a bummer - we are heading up that way this Autumn and had hoped to spend the winter up North! Good video Will - apt comments about church wealth! Jesus didn’t own so much as a tent!
I understand the physcology of religion. Jesus teachings have been hijacked by a very clever control group. Ripon you really need a week to see everything. One museum a day would be perfect. I hope you go up and have a fabulous time. I've watched your vlogs from time to time. Excellent camera work. Thankyou for watching.
@@NarrowboatWill cheers Will!
Ripon is a dead end, probably why they don't want it filling with boats. Boroughbridge has bigger moorings, dunno but you may be able to stay longer
@@ethelmini thanks for the tip!!!
Hi still with you my mini tour love it
Thankyou Lynda. Take care
I see why you went to Ripon eh rippers a phrase you keep saying lol
Good camera work Will
a lovely place it is
Keep safe pal
I really enjoyed Ripon ripper. I say rippers instead of subscribers. Rolls off the tongue better. People remember it funny enough. You've got the Hornblower story next vlog. Keep safe David.
That was a grand day out. You looked the part in the cells, in for affray with a tiller.
It's a pretty little town and no mistake; I expect a visitor uptick after this travelvlog. Very nice, ta.
Such a pretty and interesting little town. I really enjoyed the feel of the place. I'm taking you to Newby Hall on the way back if you're very good and do your home work. Ha ha
you should of called this one, "Welcome to Ripon the birth place of The Hammer House of Horror Music"😂
Ha ha ha it was way out of tune. That's just my opinion. I was expecting Christopher Lee to pop out.
Hi will, love your channel - so down to earth, as a fellow midlander and boater - not live aboard like yourself though, can’t quite make the jump. But I would like to send you a coffee or two, how do I do this x
I see you've found the link. Thankyou for supporting me. Take care.
Another great video Will. if you stop nicking police motorbikes you may not get banged up. Lol. Gaol is the English spelling of the American word jail. What was the hornblower all about?
I need to explain the Hornblower next vlog. I've always spelled jail when writing from it. Ha ha Cheers Philip
great video Will , it was an enormous cathedral , was'nt very keen on the organ playing lol , that was interesting visit to the police station , my grandfather was a sergeant at sheffield , & he was very strict from what i remember too , i don't think he would have stood for this softly softly approach , & calling criminals Mate .
Yeah they were hard men in those days. That organ playing was horrible. I wouldn't like listening to that on a Sunday. Ha ha Take care Lori
Great vlog Will . loved it there keep cool .Kev and Julie
Yeah it was great. I'm under a tree so as cool as can be you two. Have a lovely tomorrow.
@@NarrowboatWill yeah we are in the cool will, we both had a swim in the Trent and we will be tomorrow as well I think, catch you later Will👍
@@Kevin-hk3kf Temp drops to 20 tomoz. Hopefully get through to Keadby past the train swing bridge.
@@NarrowboatWill Hope you get through OK, they did have a problem with the road swing Bridge at Keadby but I'm guessing that will be sorted with the cooler weather as well. we are moving on tomorrow, we have had a fantastic time at the moorings at Holme lock. it is 10 yards from the white water canoeing course it is the home of the British canoeing team, you can just walk to the waters edge and watch the rapids and people training and flying down the course free of charge all day long. Well worth a visit if you come this way in the future.
An interesting look at some of Ripon's sites. Thanks so much. I really like it when you read the plaque info. Some folks just video the plaque but it is never long enough to read what it says (for me) and I have to go back.
It takes me time to read it as well. I had someone complain about me pointing at signs and talking. Ha ha Ripon's stunning. Take care Susan.
I will i have been to rippon its a lovely place to look round .l hope ur head is better all the.best.for now
I had a clumsy day Suzanne. Ha Ripon was a lovely place to visit. I'm glad I went back. Take very good care.
Will you be using that organ music to make a narrow boat nasty ? (intro ) Facinating goal with fairly standard punishments but no last drop !
Imagine being on the treadmill all day or passing iron balls all day. Then get a beating before bed. Ha ha That organ music wasn't my cup of tea. Arghh! Cheers Tony
good vid on cut thanks lee
Thanks Lee. You take care buddy
Hi Wiill, said I were looking forward to this trip and I weren't disappointed. Thanks again for the history/geography lesson. I believe that word you were having trouble with (Gaol) is an earlier spelling of goal.
Cheers Skipper. B.
I thought it was an old word for jail. Anyway I wouldn't want to go back. Great place to visit. Loved it Barrie. Thanks for the great comment.
Gaol - From Middle English gayole, gajol, gaylle, gaille, gayle, gaile, via Old French gaiole, gayolle, gaole, from Medieval Latin gabiola, for Vulgar Latin *caveola, a diminutive of Latin cavea (“cavity, coop, cage”).
@@grahamtansley Blimey you swallowed the book? ha ha Thanks for that
Shout “PLAY SOMETHING YOU KNOW”
Ha ha yeah. Some parts were nice but others. Well....
Sorry Will, I must be daft. But what is/was the purpose of the horn blowing? Great vlog. Thank you!👍
To warn people they're not being invaded.
@@NarrowboatWill Thanks, Will. Sorry, I must have missed that part.
@@hobbshire9373 Next vlog he explains why he does it..Stay tuned..
Hi will
Hello Kat
I've been thinking about joining the police but I didn't realise you had to be a transgender. Thanks for the brilliant video! ATB 👍
Ha ha ha. It used to be 6 feet high and rock hard now you have to understand alot of confused citizens. More Physcology then policing. Good luck if you do I really admire the police men and women. Cheers Russell.
