Imagine if. THIS was the batman origin story for the dceu, smh. It really tells the Martha and thomas story too. Wtf. Its a pure essence of Batman story, and why is comic is good no amazing is why dceu I won't prosper.

Bboi Black difference is the execution in these issues was done smarter than what Snyder thought he was doing. For one, people talk like people here. Lofty dialogue was all over BvS in a way that seemed like no one in that movie was human. People can certainly appreciate a more cerebral character study of an interpretation of Batman. That’s what Nolan did. It was a different take on the mythos, BUT it was well received. Because it was smart and thought out. Snyder’s was pretentious. It TRIED to be that. We see who Thomas Wayne is before we see him get popped, and it makes it all the more tragic that this kind man who cares for the city and love his family dies in a horrible way. In the DCEU, because it’d be more edgy, we Thomas risk the life of his family by going for Joe Chill like a “badass” and getting capped. And even Marty goes for him, but OOOOH MAAAAAN THE PEARLS GET BETWEEN THE HAMMER OF THE GUN AND THATS HOW THEY SNAP! SO EPIC! BvS isn’t anywhere near this. It’s not that people are simple. The dish they were served just wasn’t the masterpiece meal the chef thought it would be.
Stories like this are why we need a Batman series. It's not quite enough for feature length but it would be so compelling for a serial. This is just made for the original Animated Series style (I think they may have even done something like this back then).
I freaking love when Rob does stories he really likes, from the moment the video starts you can hear it in his voice that this isn't going to be a regular documentary style video but just another fellow comic lover nerding out to a story his really into. I'm a fan of all his content but these videosare the once i love the most

Cold Days is honestly one of my most favorite Comic Books ever written tbh(I am not joking). And it is in my not so humble opinion, one of the greatest Batman stories ever told. This video really explained that perfectly!!!! I cannot wait to see what is next! :)

Storytelling (especially the visual kinds like films or Comics) is a very subjective genre, and not everyone truly thinks that one single story is the best. DAMN! This was like 12 Angry Men (one of my favorite movies by the way) in the world of Batman LOL awesome story! When I read this I was blown away with the writing. Now I've never been very good at thoroughly explaining things, or good at using words to further express about how I feel about certain topics. But when I tell you how human Bruce made me feel about what he's telling the rest of the jurors is AMAZING!!! Bruce goes on saying Batman does good things and agrees yes he's the best of the best. But, just because he's better than you doesnt mean he's perfect/God he's human just like me or you and he makes mistakes. Imma have to read this again I enjoyed it so much

What I despise most, is the significance of why he decided he should get married and walk away from the Bat....his father's last words to him in the button story arc. Which was just as powerful as this story me thinks.
why this comic is amazing? at the lowest point of your life you would do anything to make it go away. Bruce Wayne initially beats the crap out of Mr. Freeze but then rises above the lowest point in his life to not do anything to make it go away; he makes the right call does the right thing even if it means he stays at that lowest point. no other person would do this, bruce can. Why? Because he is BATMAN!

He wanted to increase him, but did not want to "spoil him." So he also used this as a way of showing the nature of the Devil as well: that he'd willingly destroy a man just to get at God. i had to do jury duty once. someone was suing the city (i live in a major city) for millions and millions of dollars for a wrongful death. two weeks in a hotel with room service. i was selected out of about 300 to 400 potential juriors. it was a fairly bizarre experience for me.

Tom King is someone whose work I will definitely have to look into a lot more. Usually, this type of story would be one in which the hero's connection to the people he's protecting would be affirmed, maybe even venerated. Here, King makes a convincing argument for why that shouldn't be the response we ought to have, that even heroes make mistakes and have natural limits. It's an intelligent dismantling of the reader's preconceived notions of Batman, and I'm sort of excited to see how King looks to be building him up again.
