The Flavor of Green Tea Over Rice was the other Ozu movie! I had a similar experience to you as well, I needed to be in the right mood to see it. And I ended up enjoying it. Thanks for the video! I always catch up on your Criterion haul videos, you have an infectious personality.
Thank you that means a lot! I find a lot of movies I was not feeling initially might just have been because I wasn't in the mood. I love rewatching movies that I was middling on after a long time, sometimes perspective is something needed to understand certain movies.
The Princess Bride Criterion blu-ray never went out of print. It was just unavailable for a while because they stopped making copies of the release with hardcover book and just released it in a regular amaray case.
Just stumbled on your video. Loved the unfiltered movie options. You had me laughing out loud several times. Here's what I picked up: Kurosawa's Dreams on 4K (absolutely gorgeous) The Trial One False Move The Tod Browning Box The Princess Bride 4k The Philadelphia Story
With work and all the other things I'm doing it's gotten hard to keep making videos, although I do think I will review The Boy and the Heron because it's Miyazaki.
Omg, you killed it with the 'Last of S.H.I.E.L.A.' reference . One of my favorites of all time. 😮 have you seen; 'The Uninvited' with Ray Miland? It's a ghost story from 1947, soooo good, with one of the most beautiful women, of all time, who later, drank herself to death. The cinematography is superb, and even the costumes are luxurious, by Edith Head (Ray Miland, in real life was the personal guard for the Queen, in Buckingham Palace ! )
Personally I only like Citizen Kane and The Lady from Shanghai, if The Magnificent Andersons was in it's original state I probably would add that to the list of movies from him that I like.
that's probably my favourite one, i've read what the differences are and i don't find them to be that significant despite there being a more depressing ending, although of course that's not the point. Just followed you on letterboxd too, looking forward to seeing more of your reviews x@@PhysicalMediawithCharles
Don't Look Now, is one of those movies that is rumored, that the sex was real. It was really hot, and I want to believe, that its true. I haven't seen it since it first came out.
I'd love to see a video where you show your favorite Criterion covers (and maybe the ones you don't like too :D )
I love the "i am kenough" sweater! ^_^

I’m thinking of grabbing Don’t Look Now. Definitely on my radar of this to maybe pick up this month.

I wish The Philadelphia story would get a 4k upgrade. I still have to watch One False Move, heard it's great. Maybe I might watch it tonight.
