Amber…love your analysis of how we rocked out back then….we could rock out to songs like “Rock You Like a Hurricane”, then turn around & get our loving on & slow dance with our sweethearts with songs such as this & “Still Loving You”….we were rough & sweet at the same time ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
My complaint was that the song was edited for the music video 🙄 The song is killer 🤘🤘and the footage was taken from Scorpions first tour of Russia in 1988 (It was the Soviet Union then) I think then-Soviet premiere Gorbachev was a Scorpions fan and was the first Russian leader who allowed rock band to play the USSR after rock music had been banned there for decades. Rudolf Schenker (guitar) said that Scorpions were getting so many requests to play Russia in the 80's and they decided to make it happen in 1988, even though the band would not make any money because of the logistics and business of putting on concerts in Russia... Still, Scorpions were greeted like The Beatles when they arrived and played to thousands of Russians at those shows. Scorpions returned in 1989 to play the Moscow Peace Festival alongside Bon Jovi, Ozzy Osbourne, Cinderella, Motley Crue and Skid Row.... and the experience inspired the Scorpions hit single 'Wind of change' in 1990.
And the festival happened so that Doc McGhee (band manager) could avoid jail time after being convicted in 1988 of helping to import 20 tons of marijuana into North Carolina.
The Scorpìons were the first ever rock and roll Heavy Metal band allowed in to the then Soviet Union to perform LIVE!! Their music (rock music) wasnt even allowed there. They listened to bootleg and smuggled in lps and cassettes! Pretty Amazing to have such a fan base there already when you arent even allowed on radio stations or sold in record stores! And what a compliment to be the First Rock band behind the Iron curtain!🎉🎉🎉
I graduated in 1986, joied the military. This song means SO much more than is apparent. It was a plea to be free of Dictatorship. The Scorps were a GREAT ambassador of extinguishing the Cold war. And as far as I'm concerned they can sing any ballad they want because they can rock as hard as any band!! ✌🏻👍🏻✊🏻
The Scorpions were a hard rock band, true. But they lived in 1980s Germany, a country undergoing MAJOR transitions during that time. They added to their hard rocking repertoire a series of ballads that expressed the changes their home was undergoing. Winds of Change, Believe in Love, Send Me an Angel, they all were about the upheaval in Germany
The Zoo, The Zoo, The Zoo, The Zoo, The Zoo. Did I mention The Zoo? I think you would like that song from the Scorpions. I'd suggest a live video version so you can check out the talk box on guitar!
Being in Arizona native I'm kind of partial to their song Arizona, however they have so many great ones another one I love especially because of the intro is can't live without you such a great show starter our band used to use it to start our gigs
Awesome ! Long time fan of the Scorpions and managed to see them twice in concert in the 80's. They put on an amazing show ! So much Energy ! Love this channel and your reactions ! Long time fan, but not been able to like and comment....finally I can ! Jay you looking for a Banger for Football...Get back to the Foo Fighters again !! The Pretender ...the official music video will Hype you up Big Time !!
I was 18 years old stationed at Lowry Air Force Base in Colorado when I first bought this on cassette. I’ve had always been a scorpions fan and this just brought my fandom to a new level still love hearing this song and the entire project
Not to miss: When You Came Into My Life (official video edition) and Passion Rules the Game! Number one band in history still going strong since 1965! Actually there are NO bad Scorpions songs!
ROB SQUAD, JORDAN, a great song for hyping up a football day is QUEENSRYCHE "Take Hold of the Flame" live from Tokyo 1985!! It's been a minute since you guys have done any QUEENSRYCHE!😮 ❤❤❤❤❤ And you will absolutely love that song!!!!
Rudolf Schenker is the lead guitarist and he has a brother that had a band called the Michael Schenker Group that my older brother listened to in the early were 80's. You might check them out.
Hey you two. I just got done watching about 5 hours of your reaction music videos. Yes I did lol. I paid attention to your Scorpions reaction because the Scorpions are my favorite band. They are going on tour next year to celebrate 60 years together. Incredible. Now in one of the reaction videos you asked for some suggestions from the Scorpions. Well I have a few. Someone suggested Rock you Like a Hurricane so I won’t suggest that one. I’ll mention 4. Now I don’t know the proper way of suggesting videos for you to react so I’ll just name the songs/videos. If you like their ballads there is a song called YOU AND I. Love that song. Next is HUMANITY. This to me is a very powerful sending a message to us humans song. It never got as popular as WIND of Change. But it’s a jaw dropper and makes you think. The next 2 are more recent. From 10 years ago is a video/song called WE BUILT THIS HOUSE and couple years ago a song from their latest album called ROCK BELIEVER. They are in their middle to late 70s now but they still rock. Check those songs out and hopefully I’ll see them on your channel. Thank for your reaction channel
Ballads are fine but for a football day you need rock. Rock You Like a Hurricane is a must. Another great song Bad Boys Running Wild, that sounds like a sports song. Some of my other favorites Blackout, The Zoo and Another Piece of Meat.
Love the Scorpions, one of my favorites since their incredible debut album with Michael Schenker of UFO/MSG fame as a 16 year old on blazing guitar in 1970. After he left, You Jon Roth came on board for several unique, hard rocking albums, showcasing their growth and signature sound. When Uli left, Mattias Jabs joined and their sound crystallized on the next several albums, the title songs Lovedrive, Animal Magnetism and Blackout are all killer, heavy duty tunes that would blow both of your minds. Those entire albums are all worth a full reaction, those were legendary albums and tours and I got to see all of it. Try some hard core Scorpions, those tunes and The Zoo would freak you guys out!!! Rock On & Enjoy. 🔥🎵🎸🎤🎸🎶🔥
It seems like every time you do the Scorpions, you do a power ballad. Don't get me wrong, the Scorpions do power ballads as well or better than any band out there, but there is so much more to the Scorpions! They absolutely ROCK! I sure Jay must think they do nothing but power ballads. Let's do some Bad Boys Running Wild, Rock you like a Hurricane, The Zoo, or even Coming Home next!
You may have discovered by now that Germany is a true bastion of classic style heavy metal 🤘Scorpions are the unrivaled leading legends, but by no means the only ones. Other legends, dating back to the 80s (that unmistakable decade), and most of whom I believe you have at least touched upon, include Accept, Helloween (with their almost equally famous spin-off orchestra Gamma Ray), Running Wild, Sinner, Axxis and Warlock - the latter's singer Doro a solo artist since many years and the Heavy Metal Queen to rule them all. Heavy metal is still a thriving style in Germany, the biggest of the modern era bands undoubtedly being Primal Fear. Lest we forget, Germany also boasts some truly great hair metal bands, most prominently Bonfire, Fair Warning and Pink Cream 69. I'm sure you'll enjoy them all 🤘
Glad you picked one of the songs that no one else does; love this song and group. Keep them coming. Need to head back to Queensryche - Take hold of the flame “Live” from Tokyo
Now, you've gotta go back to the Animal Magnetism album! It's soooooo goooood! It runs the gamut of emotions and styles. "The Zoo" has such a cool vibe. "Lady Starlight" is so beautiful. "Make It Real Not Fantasy" is a huge hit. "Don't Make No Promises" is hilarious, but will make you blush. The whole album is great!
I'm still so surprised that you guys haven't done the song "Rock You Like A Hurricane" by Scorpions yet. That's a BIG song!
Arguably their biggest! It’s the one I think of first.
Wow that is a surprise.
Yeah very puzzling. Jay would especially love it.
Really? Damn that song was BIG hit!
@@Ilikeryche why hell to the o there how are you this fine evening ha ha ha
REAL MUSIC - NEVER DIES🤘🤘👍
Definitely one of there best power ballads….up there with “Still Loving You” 🤘🏽❤️🔥🤘🏽❤️🔥🤘🏽❤️🔥🤘🏽❤️🔥
Rock You like a Hurricane will have you rocking a awesome one from the 80s
The Zoo is another great song.
Klaus Meine just had a one of a kind voice.
One of the best and most influential bands from the 80’s (and 70’s). Been a huge fan for 45 years
Amber, love your hair- looking gorgeous!
The Scorpions are pure Rock n Roll!!! Rock on!
Black Sabbath "Changes" - Yes, a ballad from Ozzy & Sabbath. And a Masterpiece at that.
If you really want to blow their minds suggest Sabbaths version of 'blue suede shoes'.
We are Gen X. The last great generation.
@@shannonkoelbl909 I concur my friend 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
@shannonkoelbl909 Scorpions are definitely not Gen X, but their music was beloved by multiple generations who were alive prior to the 2000s.
@@jp3813 the Scorpions are timeless no doubt 🦂 🦂🦂🦂🦂
Great band and song. Yea, you haven't reacted to one of their biggest hits - "Rock You Like a Hurricane". That is right up Jay's alley!
I've seen the Scorpions live and they're as good live as they sound on their recordings, An incredible live show.
Definetly! Saw them twice back in the Eighties. Endless energy
Scorpions We'll burn the sky with uli jon roth on guitar.
Songs by them that you actually NEED to hear....the zoo, rock you like a hurricane, bad boys running wild, blackout, loving you sunday morning

The russians let the band Boney M to perform, but they were not allowed to sing Rasputin
@@trentsmith8580 "ROCK BAND"
"ROCK MUSIC"
... BoneyM was a disco group.

on a side note Gorbachev requested Scorpions play his 80th birthday celebration

I've seen Scorpions live three times. Klaus has a voice that recording cannot do justice to. Hearing him live is without equal.
