I'm swedish and I've never had meatballs like that, not even in resturants... Doesn't mean that I have anything against your meatballs. They look really delicious. :)
Of course! As a proud cook from Sweden, could I also suggest turkey? Only make sure they dont come out to dry!! :) Also, WE usally put whole milk in the mix and not heavy cream. That way you can eat more before getting stuffed!! Personally I think the balls should be about half the size than in this video, that makes them more delicate and light. Then all the ingredients should be pretty fine (smaller breadcrumbs and onions etc) so the balls dont burst. Smaller balls also cuts the cooking time down to about 20-25min in the oven. But thats just how I prefer them. Also finely chopped curley parsley on top is more traditional than dill, as well as serving some quick pickled thin-sliced cucumber on the side (pressgurka, look it up if you want). Just press the water out of some cucumber with a weight after mixing with salt, then add 1 part white vinegar, 2parts sugar and 3 parts water and pour on top. Let it soak for at least 30 min. But make them the way YOU like them, thats the most important thing!
Great recipe but as born Swede I have to correct it a little you have to let the onion cool completely before adding it to the meat mixture there is no nutmeg in Swedish meatballs but 1/4 tsp ground clove and 1 tsp brown sugar beside the allspice and you never ever bake them you let the mixture rest in the fridge for 10 min then you roll them in flour shake the excess and fry them in plenty of butter let them drain on paper towels serving them with boiled potatoes brown-cream sauce and lingonberry sauce enjoy!!
Great video as usual, sir. That stated, you may want to sit down, because I have some tragic news for you: The Vikings didn‘t make it to the big game this year.

another excellent meal idea!
Potato starch (or just mashed potatoes) and butter in a gravy makes the most amazing roux.

Can I substitute ground veal/pork with chicken mince?
