I have to comment on this. I thought I overcame my unreasonable passion for Thirty Seconds to Mars - me, a super-purist… - by incessantly listening to Diru (they cure your soul together with your ears) but I realized I actually went nowhere, when I came across your video. Now, it's true they are on a somehow different end of the spectrum, but at the same time, there's a pervert logic beyond comparing them, if you remember Maynard James Keenan sang on TSTM's first album (yes, him). For me, Tool is the most logical comparison with Diru, so it all makes sense, except that I was trying to forget TSTM and all of their crap that costed me a lot of money that I should have spent on Diru. This video is a masterpiece.

In your text, interesting thoughts arise. I find full of meaning (that is in my eyes - philosophy/morality) in his lyrics, and I see the words as questions rather than answers, but that's just me. Still, time doesn't stand still. We have to take action, man.
Direct questions like; "What do you live for? In which way are you making the world's a better place to live? Is your life just a lie? Do you dare to dream and believe? Darkness lives within all of our souls - have you seen cruelty with your own eyes? What do you do to survive "hell"? Are you a fighter or do you run away when the storm crash by?" We have to think them through... If not, what's the point about facing another day?
Diru are not such that they exceed my ability to relate them to a human IDEA. My idea encompassed the song, who sings it or what genre it is is inconsequential. My interpretation of the lyrics & further application to a concept involving Kyo is what mattered to me. I should hope 'attack' is in the man`s vocabulary, as is `freedom of thought, inspiration and discovery` which ties into why I make videos in the first place. I prefer to think and do things of the non-linear kind, you see.
YO. I know these videos are old af, but I used to watch them when I was a teenager and I'm 31 now, and I still think about @burntpaper's musings in the descriptions of them. I'd love to follow them in their adventures now, wherever they are. Does anyone have info on them?
And it's nothing wrong with expressing emotions, light or dark. Same with meanings and opinions - there's always shades and contrasts. You don't come far if you view everything as black/white.
P.s Hope I don`t sound rude, or angry. But am I not justified in having an opinion? I realize 3stm stand for something different than Diru but that doesn't mean on some level they can't connect, it just takes effort of thought. ^^;
What exactly 'IS' suitable for Dir en grey? Enlighten me. Not sure what you are implying, you have bypassed the point of the video and also the fact that music is SUBJECTIVE. It`s rather presumptuous if you ask me especially since I didn`t design this to reflect Dir en grey`s taste, it appeals to nothing but my own creativity. To me a fan is not one who conforms but seeks to understand a band, so one should expect a little deviation ne.
