My dad has this same one and when he was around 18-19 he used to ride it all the time. He told me when I am in high school I can ride it so now I’m finally old enough.
Mine would go 55 but then again I only weigh like a 125 pounds when I was 16. I had mine from 2001 untill 2012 when I was in a car accident and had to stop riding. The bike never broke down though
I’ve got a 2000 Honda XR 80 without a limiter and maybe Kinda destroyed the timing chain. somehow it still runs but the timing chain is veeerry loose and it just started to smoke a bit so I’ve got to rebuild it. so when I was in fifth gear going as fast as I would reasonably go it would probably be 500 RPM faster than what you were going
What year is this? I just got a 2002 XR80 today! I really like the size of the dirt bike, I am 12 years old! Edit: This was 6 months ago, still have the bike and have put it thru hell haha, now I ride a YZ125! ✌
How is this making it Street legal? Dirt bikes can't be registered as Street legal bikes, meaning you can't get a license plate or insurance for it. How is puting lights and a speedo on consider it as Street legal lol
@@4fiddy_a_aron Dirt bikes can be made street legal and licensed with a few basic mods (head and tail/brake lights, horn, speedo, at least one mirror), though the requirements vary by state (if you're in the US).
You need blinkers, headlight, tail light, horn, rear view mirrors, speedometer, fuel gauge, and a bigger sprocket to increase the top end speed to keep up with traffic, and a license plate with some rego
Just cleaned out the carburetor of my 1998 XR80. It hasn't been started since 1999. Still runs amazing.
wow! That is awesome! Glad you got it back and running!

Love my 1986 honda xr80 shes bored to a 110 stroked out to a 130cc
nice!
You at get bigger than a 95cc big bore kit Gumby😂
Damn I’d think it be a tiny hit faster I’m 220 and maxed out my 50 at 32mph
50 mph ain’t bad, and it’s street legal so u can prob cruise at 40
yes i can cruise steady and 40
48
u want a smaller rear sprocket for speed and a bigger drive sprocket for speed
Only thing is, it’s a small 80. So it probably wouldn’t have the torque to get its full potential out and go faster.
What year is your xr80?
2003
