This is great! Thanks for the tutorial. Needed this before May. I’m participating in a video installation festival and I needed more info about setting cue points looping and re triggering. A beat pad totally makes sense. My question is can this be used in conjunction with AUM? iPad, korg, and DJ Software. I.e., DJ pro Any info would be greatly appreciated.✌️
Thanks. Your question is a bit vague. What do you mean by AUM? Resolume can be used in conjunction with anything but what exactly are you trying to achieve?
@@mowglitv AUM is kind of like AUV3 or audio bus. We use it with a korg synth in combination with the dj software. What I'm thinking is that I could route the audio to Reolume and create on fly videos to beatmatch with the Dj (live) basically.
@@HVYCHKNRADIO yes, that's possible. You should get a MIDI clock into Resolume from whatever you're using to make the music. Having said that, Ableton Link is way more stable than MIDI clock.
I have my tap tempo mapped to the spacebar. You only need to tap it 3 times and again if the tempo changes. If you're Vjing to a DJ the tempo doesn't really change that much if at all. Alternatively, you could get a MIDI clock signal or Ableton Link from the DJ. Many mixers including the Pioneers and some Allen & Heath have MIDI clock out. Having said that, Resolume's external MIDI clock implementation can be flaky, there are known issues with it. (resolume.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20241) Ableton Link is solid though. To have a usable signal for a beat detector you would need a direct audio feed which is not always possible. There have been many attempts at beat-detector to MIDI clock devices in the past but none were 100% reliable. Personally, I've never had a problem tapping anyway.
Cheers liking videos to as new to resolume
Very useful. Thanks.
Glad to hear that!
excellent video, nice one, very helpful
Thanks. Feel free to suggest topics for any tutorials you would like to see.

@@mowglitv Looking forward to checking it out. Thanks for the videos and response!
@@mowglitvWhy should Ableton Link be more stable than MIDI sync?
I have yet to find a good beat detector. While vj'ing I cannot keep tapping the sync or tempo button.
