I've got a external breather system on my m8 as of now with the stock air cleaner... could I use the stock bolts with this S&S setup?
@@spoom937 I'm not sure on the spacing (length) of the stock bolts in comparison to the S&S backing plate. Other than that it would probably work
@@jpcycles I'm hoping it does because I'm not going back to venting into cylinders! Not after what I've dumped out of that catch can lol!!!

What’s the surface area of the teardrop filter vs the stock filter? How drastic is the change in volume between air filters if the throttle body is still stock?
On a stealth air intake for say a 2011 RK, can you reuse the same cover ?
Do yall know if the stock breather bolts will work, instead of the S&S breather bolts? I run a catch can and would like to keep it.
Did this work? It’s way easier the. Having to drill holes and reroute everything vs just running the t off your stock bolts.
Where can you purchase a rain sock for this?

It will flow more air than your stock unit and the filter is serviceable unlike the stock one. As for hp gain your best bet would be to combine it with a exhaust and tuner for best results
@@jpcycles interesting. I already have Cobra 2-1 powervision tuner and s&s 475c cam but the stock 114 intake. so would you recommend i upgrade the to the teardrop for my setup?
@@ThatHarleyChannel Yes, If you have a cam/exhaust/tuner your cheating yourself out of some extra hp not having a better intake. At least swap out the filter

Get the full-size teardrop, and you'll never need to be concerned about rain.
if you have a Harley and dont know where your loctite is you shouldnt be working on Harleys. 😁

Question, I see that you removed by scrapping a gasket. I received a ss mini teardrop ac n only see a o ring in packaging. Do I need to buy a gasket that goes in to TB?

This mini teardrop air kit has been back order for months.... bummer!!!
I was told back when I purchased my low rider s in 2020 the stock intake was considered hi-flow. Rode it all over the country with an exhaust and 475 cam, is this a worthwhile upgrade at this point? I pull the plugs and see it's running fine...
I would probably just upgrade the filter to a washable/re-usable one.

S&S must be getting cheap.....my Stealth just arrived...no loctite.
If you own a Harley Davidson, you'll need to have red and blue Loctite in your toolbox.

You absolutely do. Clean your filter once and you’ll see how much water goes through the filter.
Everytime you say locktight I think red . It makes me nervous .
Heat or pulling out threads to get it off .
What strength is that locktight?

I've had both the mini and larger classic on my breakout. The element fits both covers. There's no difference in performance, and the element stays cleaner for longer. With the larger classic teardrop, you'll also get fewer blowby drips. The open air cleaners create more turbulence, and it throws the blowby oil mist around all over the place.
Do you know if the full size cover will fit this backing plate?
Yes, it will. I fitted the full-size cover on my 114 breakout. There is no difference in performance either going from the mini to the full-size teardrop. The full-size teardrop looks a lot better than the mini. The mini looks great on a Sportster but looks too small on a big twin.

What are your thoughts regarding a catch can or filter bypass on the breather to manage the blow by from entering the intake?
You could certainly do it and be fine. It just isn't necessary, the head breather system works fine.
@@jpcyclesOnly a parts guy would think burning hot/moist/oil rich air, that causes carbon, a good idea.
@freebehindbars8654 doesn't do cars any harm. It's been the norm for donkeys years. If you're really that concerned about carbon on the pistons, add some Lucas upper cylinder lubricant to the fuel at each fill. It does wonders for the engine.
