I have a very similar story to Trevor. Paramedic with the same Ambulance Service. I did 33 yrs. I’ve been attacked, with the then DPP , Keir Starmer, refusing to prosecute. In my last year I saw two of the worst jobs possible. I had a severe eye problem requiring 12 injections into my eye. Little or no support from HR, who just wanted to know when I’d be back to work and offering no support. I was driving back home sobbing one day, decision made. Straight to my boss and retired on the spot. Best thing I ever did. I’m a hand spinner and get great delight in demonstrating the art. Was sat opposite The Sheep Show lorry at the Bath and West Show. Great fun watching them and the shearers in the shearing tent. I’m also involved with the wonderful Andy and Jen at Fernhill Farm. And I’m now happy 😁 Keep up the good work all.
Fair play to you Brenda , courage to stand up for yourself and to realize that in a society were the majority know the price of everything and the value of nothing you put and got your priorities right .My sister has a lovely winter hat with a wee clip-on sheep on top from Fern Farm and if you have had input in this , your true worth to this world has been achieved .Best of luck from Ireland.
@@emmett1739 Thank you for your kind words. My friend Lesley is the felter and makes the sheep. I’ve got quite a flock now! There are three of us who run FHF Wool School twice a year. We love to encourage people down the rabbit hole of woolly stuff 😁
Another wonderful podcast! Thank you for letting us join in on the conversation. Trevor is a real hero; honest, humble and honorable. I'm so glad that you have friends like him. Best wishes for the rest of the summer. Love you all ❤️.
Came here to say the same thing about Trevor, I really enjoyed listening to His story and all that he does to help other people, the man’s a legend…👏❤️
Cammie i told you, my hubby is ex police. He was attacked on duty and almost killed (would have been if it wasnt for a passing person who stopped out of shock and shut his car door which startled the suspect) and he wasnt discharged on medical grounds/pensioned off either when he was diagnosed with CPTSD and severe depression that followed after that! This was in 2015/16 he tried to carry on but ultimately couldnt. So wasnt too long ago and they didnt have any support at all. He had to get it from his own volition through the GP, and he still has night terrors from it. So i totally get what Trevor was saying when he was explaining his situation. Hubbys psychiatrist actually used the "linen closet" analogy to explain it to him too! All best wishes to Trevor and cammie & family and Iona. X
Aw Trevor, I also have ptsd through an attack but it was by my kids dad, it takes a huge amount of courage to talk about ptsd and the events that gave you it, so big respect to you ❤
What a great podcast. Quite the life Trevor has lived, and it sounds like he has no intention of slowing down! Very inspirational. I wish him and his family all good things, as they continue on in all of their endeavors. Same for you, Cammy and Iona.
Great interview! My daughter is a firefighter medic and listening to this gentleman’s story really hit home. 😢 Glad he’s found something he loves. 😊 Love his wardrobe analogy!
Thank you all for another cracking podcast. Trevor is the most incredible man. I saw you all first hand at the Great Yorkshire Show & it was a real treat. The most authentic, genuine & kind bunch of people you could wish to meet. Hope that you enjoyed the Yorkshire biscuits. Please keep up your fantastic podcasts. Trevor is our favourite & we also really enjoy your weekly podcasts too with just Cammy & Iona - such a laugh! Best wishes from North Yorkshire 🙂
I don’t know how you do it, but you get such interesting guests. Trevor Wayborn has done so much. I am glad he spoke about Post Traumatic Stress. Trauma is accumulative. I am glad he is well and doing something he loves. How do they get those sheep to cooperate? 😊❤️. Julie Andrews is still living 😊
Your podcasts pop up while I'm watching different videos, and I always jump onto the Fed By Farmers pod cast. I just love watching You Two. Ionas laugh is so contagious and brings a smile to my face, and I have to really listen to understand Cammy. But I believe I've got it now.😂 I absolutely love the Fed By Farmers Pod Casts.❤😊
What a great guy and what a story! Totally connected with him in so many ways there and as you know Cammy I'm nae farmer but it's another guy out there promoting farming which connects with people like me who haven't a clue yet understand more now because of people like Trevor (and you). Great watch mate!
Throughly enjoyed this podcast, what a lovely man, had a very interesting life so far. The look on your faces when you asked how he had financed the sheep show and he said he sold his house! 😂
Fabulous podcast - what an inspiring character! It was really entertaining and such a positive outlook. Cammy, you and Iona are so good at getting your guests to relax and obviously enjoy the interview. It’s so informal and informative at the same time. Good to remind everyone that we all depend on farmers to provide our food.
He has certainly had a very interesting life. To me farmers are the most adaptive people. Please don't change farmers to food producers. You have to educate a lot of people to revere all of you who produce the food. Podcasts and social media such as this provides a wealth of information and shows the breadth of areas of "agriculture". We are all fed by farmers in some way or another and changing to producer to me is giving in to the activists.
Another very interesting podcast. Trevor certainly has had a full life. He is so fascinating to listen to, so positive and passionate in what he believes in. Top man 👏👏
You have had some great guests All with a story to tell about farming in the UK Don’t know the people mentioned but it doesn’t matter because farming is bigger than one person or community it is about adaptation and grit IT is amazing FARMERS need to stand up for themselves and their industry I feel like a broken record But it is hard to watch farmers sink into depression because they can’t live and support their families as farmers
WOW what an amazing and interesting podcast. Trevor is fantastic and what a wonderful story he has definitely a life well lived with so much more interesting projects to come I'm sure. Thank you so much for sharing this story.
Totally understand the beginning of his story. I spent eighteen years working in the n h s and acute psychiatry... Some of those "patients " Knew full well Staff had to be nice to them no matter how bad they treated staff And would physically attack staff because of that. Definitely Not definitely not an easy job.
The Hoof GP also stands up for the excellent standards of farming such that he even came to the United States, Wyoming, I think, to demonstrate the excellence of care of the farming community.
I'm from NZ. I was thinking that's just like what we have here in NZ and then he said that's where it came from, the Agrodome. I probably went as a kid, but I definitely went as a teenager as part of our Agricultural studies. I took Agriculture and horticulture as my science electives.
An important message is to change the agricultural environment as food producers rather than farmers. Perhaps bring serious attention to support what and who (like you) growing, raising, and producing our food. Great podcast, great people as always.
This was great. Thought you would never get round to julie andrews 😅 nice banter very balanced between you all. So entertaining but also good solid substance. There are so many lovely people in agriculture. Thanks for introducing us to them!
Another fabulous podcast. Trevor, what a great life you've had so far. Hears wishing you the best for this and what comes next. I have seen the show at Penistone and thoroughly enjoyed it. onwards and upwards as they Sir.
@@FedByFarmersPodcast Dame Julie is probably most relieved you were wrong Sadly the actresses that played daughters Liesel and Louisa have died Christopher Plummer has died but the other actors who played the family are still alive
I love the reframing of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder to Post Traumatic Stress Injury; it is so powerful and hopeful.
This man is so amazing. He's working with children and that's so darned important.❤😊
Trevor you are the real deal THIS program is wonderful farmers need people to PUSH the value of farmers and farming ❤❤❤
