This is the same way gear ratios are set up in real life. Lower ratios for top speed but slow acceleration. And vise versa. 3:73 gears are pretty common in most vehicles unless it's on a short track. Like an 1/8 mile drag strip.

Now you can just get a jet ski fully customized it and fly out to the end of the map where there's no island and hit the gas until you run into barrier and you'll reach 301 miles an hour
