*How to catch Laylatul Qadr?* Laylatul Qadr, the Night of Decree or Night of Power, is one of the most sacred nights in the Islamic calendar. It takes place in the last ten days of Ramadan and was the night in which the Qur’an was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It is said that during this night our destiny is written for the coming year The Holy Night of Laylat-ul-Qadr is a single night worth a thousand months of reward in Islam. Any good acts and deeds completed on this single night are the equivalent to if you had performed that one act for a thousand months (83 years). Allah almighty says, Indeed, We sent the Qur’an down during the Night of Decree. And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree? The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter. Peace it is until the emergence of dawn. (Qur’an Surah Al Qadr) Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Whoever established prayers on the night of Qadr out of sincere faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven; and whoever fasts in the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven." (Sahih al-Bukhari 1901) 🌘When this night can be found? The exact date of Laylatul Qadr is unknown, although it is thought to occur on an odd night in the last ten days of Ramadan (e.g. the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th or 29th night). Narrated `Aisha: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Search for the Night of Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan." (Sahih al-Bukhari 2017) Narrated `Aisha: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to practice I`tikaf in the last ten nights of Ramadan and used to say, "Look for the Night of Qadr in the last ten nights of the month of Ramadan." (Sahih al-Bukhari 2020) 🌉There are plenty of things one can do on this night to maximise our blessings and reward. 1. Pray Tahajjud. 2. Read Qur’an. 4. Give your Zakat. 5. Give Sadaqah to poor people. 6. Feed poor people. 7. Do Dhikr of Allah. 8. Send salutation upon (ﷺ). "GET REWARD OF PRAYING WHOLE NIGHT:" Narrated from ‘Uthmaan (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) said: “Whoever prays ‘Isha’ in congregation, it is as if he spent half the night in prayer, and whoever prays Fajr in congregation, it is as if he spent the whole night in prayer.” Saheeh Muslim (656) Don't miss this reward anyhow. By praying Isha and Fajr in congregation. It will take only 20 minutes of your 24 yours. But you will get reward of praying the whole night. In detail: 1. Recite the Holy Qur’an During the month of Ramadan and over the course of the year, many of us tend to recite the Holy Qur’an without knowing what it is we are actually reading. Take some time out to translate the meaning of the Holy Qur’an on this night; it is, after all, the night the very first verses of the guidance were revealed - ask yourself one simple question: would you read an English book from cover to cover if you did not understand what you were reading? 2. Supplications (Dua) It is said that you may ask Allah SWT for whatever you wish for on this night (legitimate desires, of course) but in doing so, do not forget to make as much Dua as possible for others and seek repentance as much as possible to your Lord for your sins on this night. 3. Donate to Charity The act of giving is an act that is greatly rewarded by Allah SWT and is greatly encouraged during the Holy month of Ramadan. If the rewards and blessings of giving in this month are so great, can you imagine what the rewards for giving on this night of Laylatul Qadr will be like? Even the smallest act of giving someone a glass of water or smiling at another being is a great act of charity in Islam. 4. Unite Ramadan is intended to bring peace and unity to Islam so ensure you spend as much time as possible praying and worshipping with your loved ones. Visit the Mosque with your family and friends, have your suhoor and iftar with them and pray alongside each other, too. 5. Perform I’tikaaf The Holy Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) used to spend the final ten days of this Holy month in I’tikaaf at the Masjid. I’tikaaf is the act of performing continuous prayer and Dhikr (devotional prayers/remembrance of Allah SWT) at the Masjid for a prolonged period of time, without leaving. 6. Ibaadah (Worship) If you cannot perform I’tikaaf during the last ten nights it is strongly recommended to spend the actual night of Laylat-ul-Qadr in ibaadah, at the Masjid, reciting dua and seeking repentance as much as you can. 7. A Time for Self-Reflection The night of Laylat-ul-Qadr is a night for reflection, so ensure you evaluate yourself as a person and ask yourself these things: As a Muslim, are you humble? Is there more you can do for your amaal or is there more you could do for others whilst you still have the opportunity? Are you a good person? Do you have decent characteristics? Have you got good morals and values? Do you have good akhlaaq? Could you be a better person? Identify all the things you feel you could change or better about yourself; be your own worst critic as none of us are perfect and there is always room for improvement.

What we call ‘I’, ‘you’, ‘he’, ‘she’, etc. are not the visible physical body! On the contrary, it is the soul (Nafs). The body is the vehicle for carrying the soul. It is an earthen ‘frame’ or ‘mold’ developed by the Supreme Creator by mixing the sperm of the father and ovum of the mother. When Adam (the first man) was created, the entire soul of mankind till the Last Day was created from the single soul in the Paradise itself. So the soul of all mankind is the one as explained in verses 4: 1 and 7: 189. Taking out their progeny which exists till the Last Day from the napes of Adam’s children, the Creator took a covenant from each one asking: “Am I not your Lord, the Owner?” Then each of them replied: “Of course, we do witness”. By doing this everybody admitted that the Authority for giving the rules and regulations for the entire mankind is Lord Allah only. Afterward, they were sent back to the nape of Adam as explained in verses 7: 172-173. This is the first death of everyone mentioned in verses 2: 28 and 40: 11. Swearing by the apparent six facts verses 91: 1-6: “Sun and the hot light; the consequent moon and reflecting light; the appearance of the bright day; the darkening of the night; the canopied sky; the shaped Earth like an ostrich’s egg”, the Lord says in verses 91: 7-10: “He evenly balanced the soul and gave its Criterion Adhikr (false way and good way). Then whoever purifies it will prosper, while whoever neglects it will fail. That means whoever fulfills the covenant made with the Lord in this world, he will only prosper. So the believer lives here always declaring by the soul that “I am none” and “nothing belongs to me”. Verse 76: 3 says: “Indeed, We gave the man freedom to select either the way of grateful or ungrateful. In verse 90: 10 it is told: "Then we guided the man in two ways, one to the Hell and the other to the Paradise". Thus Lord became Impartial by teaching the human Adhikr which contains the ways of the Satan (falsehood) and the way of the Lord (Truth) from the Paradise itself as told in verses 55: 1-4. As told in verse 10: 100, no one becomes a believer without the Permission of the Lord (Adhikr). Therefore, everyone must confirm that he or she whether grateful or ungrateful by utilizing Adhikr. *From Adhikr-the Best Interpretation of Lord's Book* www.straightpathonline.com
