About the Festival:
Established in 1987, Melbourne International Comedy Festival (#MICF) is one of the three largest comedy festivals in the world, alongside Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Montreal's Just for Laughs Festival.
Over the last week of March and into April every year, #MICF transforms Melbourne into the comedy capital of the world, as local and international comedians take to theatres, pubs, clubs and broom cupboards citywide - shining a spotlight on the silly, the serious, the heart-breaking and the hilarious.

I know I sound like a total white, straight, able-bodied asshole, because that's what I am. LOL! But it's freakin' amazing to see such a diverse line up of people at this year's festival.
Times really are 'a' changin', and, I don't know, it's just a wonderful feeling.
I noticed how diverse the comics were this year too.
But I also noticed that there wasn't much variation in core ideas/jokes.
@@gmcg852 Yeah, I'd agree with that. It's great to be diverse, but you also need the people who just make it a little more lighthearted and fun. Not EVERYTHING has to be a meaningful statement. It's a 'comedy festival' after-all, and really, people just want to laugh. Yes, I agree with you. Diversity is great, but comedy is the focus, and there was probably too much 'WOKE' comedy this year.

oh yes, the woke and racist jokes about white people are just hilarious and knee slapping, that don't happen in reverse, at all.
there were a few good comics though.
what the fuck diversity has to do with anything at all in comedy is beyond me though, given that the comedy scene has been diverse since forever.....

Why am I here? I’m re-watching all of the episodes of Kath and Kim and I love Prude and Tru’s accents. So I did a YT search on Aussie posh accent and here I am. Can’t get enough of them. They sound so WEIRD to this American. The first go-around of all of the episodes it did sound like their voices are broken. (And this comedian rocks!)
