I’m a New South Welshman born and bred, been living in Queensland for the last 13 years ( now back in NSW) - seen Queensland dominate Origin for too long. I saw up in Queensland what made a somewhat good team a great team. NSW for a long time never had that vibe. Tonight I saw that vibe finally! So proud! Of course I’ll be bias here and say our Parra boy Mitch was a standout player and should stay as NSW incumbent halfback for as long as he is playing well! Go the Blues
surely they let Mitch keep the NSW #7 i don't think it would work with Moses and Cleary as a pairing tho, either gotta be Moses/Luai or Cleary/Luai. It's gonna be great to have Lomax at Parra next year too, Mitch and Lomax already seem to have good synergy even after only 2 games together.
I reckon just have Cleary and Moses together as our halves next year.

Ive seen Qld come back when the chips are down and wasn't feeling comfortable with 10 minutes to go but the NSW defence was the best i've seen in a long long time, nothing better going to bed with a NSW series win under the belt... Giddy Up
All they had to do was to not loose composure, as QLD can perform miracles from behind. Our blues kept their cool, and made history. No try's for QLD,and no tries for them at suncorp. 🦾🤍💙🦾.
One of the best halves of State of Origin footy by both sides, so entertaining, so passionate, so balanced by both teams just amazing athletes.
To Queensland (not all of you).
- You were the favourites going into this series, don’t backtrack now.
- You don’t “pick and stick”. You were calling for Walsh and Holmes to be dropped all series.
- You only won one game and it was 12 on 13.
- NSW at least scored two tries on home turf when it was 12 on 13. You did not score a try on home soil with 13 on 13.
- NSW understood origin and you didn’t ;)
Blues played outstanding tonight and throughout the series. But don’t get on your high horse, that’s 2-1 in the last 3 years for the blues. Feel free to rip us apart when the blues win 8 series in a row.

Two of the most sensible comments in this thread. On both sides! Agree wholeheartedly with both of you. For me this game could have gone either way in the second half however the Blues defence was the deciding factor in the end ! Notwithstanding Queensland’s great efforts holding us out for long periods. This is good for the game going forward

He’s old school- not like today’s “listen to me” commentators. He’s very proud & will stick up for his state. Ultimately he’s able to call out the better team and that makes him a true commentator - instead of being what the networks want him to be! Haven’t seen him in a while have we! Hope he makes more appearances

Honestly nsw did so unexpectedly good that the ref tried to give maroons a penalty try 30 metres out cuz Luai turns his back 😂. Cherry Evans sulked around too much and ended up getting booed at his own home ground 😂. Seriously tho, all jokes aside, good game, great origin match. Queensland did play really well, had outstanding defence but the better team just won that night🥳. Good game. UP THE BLUES 🥳💙💙

Queensland and New South Wales were stupendous last night. The only real criticisms I have is gagai looked very old against Bradman best all night, and I was wondering when Billy would put ponga on for gagai but it never eventuated. Cobbo being to fatigued late in the game is really inexcusable he’s a star athlete and while his work out wide was good it was hardly nonstop. Conditioning is a problem. Especially when ponga went looking for a runner after a partial line break and cobbo over ran him and then just stood there instead of getting on side where he could have received a pass and had no one in front of him. DCE like gagai looked old last night. When the ball was knocked out of his hands by Angus Crichton, he was just hanging about neither running or passing. He didn’t have someone running on to it so his choices were throw the pass and make someone work or run himself. Doing neither allowed Chrichton to know the ball free when Queensland had ascendency. Felise kaufusi only playing 15 minutes is ridiculous. Queensland had a light bench in the forwards and for some reason he removed kaufusi after 15minutes and then played with essentially 1 forward 1 utility and 1 back on the bench. It’s little wonder that by 70th minute the blues took control the middles were absolutely exhausted. After that it was a magnificent game. Moses is to be commended he’s shown himself to be a great origin halfback luai is also sky rocketed in my estimations for his abilities.
Fatty is spot on. QLD defence was superb but their attack looked very clunky. Need to bring back Fifita and possibly consider Ponga at fullback.

Not picking Fifita was obviously a mistake but QLD does have alot of injuries in the front/second row. QLD also doesnt really have anyone else in the centre position either. Whose after DCE? Sam Walker? Why isnt he in the squad learning from JT?

Vautin's a dribbler NSW had QLD on the back foot for most of the game. NSW did a QLD on QLD wore them down and finished stronger. Qld made over a100 tackles more than NSW. Fatigued players don't often make breaks. Moses' kicking game kept NSW out of trouble.
Qld just dont get Origin. They just dont have that state spirit.

Slater picking his team based solely on personal opinion is going to hurt QLD. He clearly doesn't like David Fafita and has an unhealthy fixation on Reece Walsh. Walsh's speed doesn't compensate for his softness and lack of experience, as proven by his unimpressive performances in big games. For example, in last year's Grand Final, Walsh basically handed Cleary the winning try. Additionally, anyone watching the NRL this year would know that Reed Mahoney should be chosen over Harry Grant, who has played average all year. Mahoney is playing at his best, plus, he's an A-grade smart ass who consistently gets under the skin of key players, making him perfect for Origin.
On a side note why did QLD refuse to give Dearden the ball every time Dearden had the ball he made something happen Walsh, DCE, KP made nothing happen.
when NSW play in QLD they have to beat 13 men plus the ref. This is a mighty achievement from the lads.

To Queensland's credit, Fatty hasn't got a clue. His mind is flooded with the 80s and 8 in a row lol. As a NSWelshman, I was on the edge of my seat the whole game. It took Luai to break the game open in the 65th minute. Queensland shouldn't be too worried for years to come. This blues team is something else tho ❤

How easy it is for critics and even fans to tear apart their supposed favourite team for losing and say things like they didn’t play good enough or the team was shocking or it’s the fault of one player as a NSW supporter I support them win or lose I never throw derogatory comments at the opposing team it is a game of two halves and the outcome is what it is two teams and only one winner
QLD had no punch in the forwards, Walsh, Cobbo and hammer proved they don’t offer much if the forwards arnt dominating. NSW played well all over the park( great 1st game by Barnett)

Moses & Luai are the halves pairing from now on Cleary is amazing but Moses has done more in the Blues jersey.
Cleary hasn't played since Game 1 last year, and Moses got to play this year with a much better selected NSW side, against a much worse Qld side. People forget that last year, Cleary was a Hynes missed tackle away from winning game 1, but when Moses replaced him in game 2 NSW lost 32-6, with the same teammates against the same Qld. Moses is a good player but Cleary is better.

As a Maroons supporter - we failed to generate any plays or dominance over the second and third game and only won the first because they were a man down. Walsh has been terrible this series and doesnt generate running plays. Bad series and poor selection from Billy
Ponga was a luxury we couldn't afford, Fifita would of been a better selection but in the end just not good enough

Exactly. It was the game plan to take no risk and just hit it up. It also meant no points. At no time did they look a threat as they didn't move the ball with support players pushing up to force the defense into a split decision.
Instead they had the forwards ploughing through the middle and when it wasnt them Reece Walsh was taking a hitup. Just odd
