washington fan/grad here - this game aside, its so so cool to see how fast you guys have picked up the sport and found a passion for it. love the content!
Thanks Grant, we really appreciate that 🙏
Glad you guys are reacting to college football games… every weekend there’s like 5 crazy exciting games
Absolutely loving it Sean! Thank you for this, really appreciate the comment 🙏 So many games to choose from!
Washington was without their 2nd best receiver jalen McMillan for most the game. Hell also be drafted this year. Once he’s back and healthy their offense is gonna be hard to stop.
Sounds like this one had a lot of strong draft prospects 💪 Appreciate the comment Matt
Watched this game in person, it was incredible. Penix does have a lot of injuries, and that was one of the reasons he didn't go into the draft last year. He's staying in college this year to prove he can stay healthy and produce! Great Video!
Hoping he stays healthy for the rest of the season 🤞 Thank you so much, we really appreciate that
This was was easily the best live sporting event I've ever been to, glad you guys enjoyed it so much! Go Huskies!!!!
We loved it! Must have been amazing to see it live!
🎵BOW DOWN...TO WASHINGTON 🎶
Boys you're veering into my territory. Good stuff!!! Epic rivalries in the PAC12, the great Pacific Northwest. Fun to see you guys reacting to this.
We appreciate that! Was such a great game!
this was a classic Big Ten matchup, what do you mean?
@@samfunfun646 it definitely will be next year.
@@samfunfun646 FAIR POINT! hahaha
I lived in the Seattle area for 3ish years. Such a good sports city and they’re way more into college football than I expected. They really deserve to have an NBA team again 😢
GO HUSKIES!!!!!! IT’S DUCK HUNTING SEASON!!!!!
Was a fantastic win for sure!
University of Washington alum here, the Dawgs are great this year! the Huskies program has been down for nearly a decade but before that we have a great storied history.
You may have heard of an aircraft company called Boeing who built the B-17 and B-29 during World War II - from my home town just south of Seattle in Renton, WA. That is why the air raid siren is there! I'm miles south of the University and on some weekends you can hear the air horn if you're in your back yard!
Go Huskies!!
#UW #BowDown 💜💛🏈
As a Ducks fan this was such a great/terrible game to watch. Such an entertaining football game as a fan of the sport but so soul crushing as a fan of the Ducks.
Can imagine this! I really thought you’d got all the momentum in Q3 especially. I didn’t see the ending coming. Was a great game for the neutral of course. Appreciate the comment and good luck for the season 🤞
As a husky fan I can agree with everything said minus the soul crushing defeat for us. But don't you worry my niners lost with a missed fg. So I feel your pain sort of. Hopefully we get a rematch for the pac 12 championship.
Edit: I really thought we were going to lose when washington did t score on 3 straight drives.
Not to worry, we'll see them again in December.
Respect and hope we meet up in Vegas! Go Dawgs!
I'm a Ducks fan since 1984, and this is the first loss ever that I wasn't mad at or disappointed in them. It was a great game between two great teams, and I had a damn good time watching it!
Fun reaction, guys!
Penix is unreal. Probably your Heisman winner.
I suggested react to Warren Moon he's one of the great Passers in the CFL and NFL he was the Washington Huskies Quarterback back 1978 he led them to the Rose Bowl Victory over Michigan Wolverines
Appreciate the suggestion Erik, we’ll add that one to our list, thank you 🙏
@@DNReactsyour Welcome Always here to help you guys!
Special note on Moon, he is one of only two people enshrined in both the CFL and NFL Halls of Fame. Went undrafted out of college, signed with Edmondton, and while he was there they won 5 straight Grey Cups. This made the NFL take notice, he signed with the Houston Oilers for the unheard of sum of $5 million per season. (Don't know what that is in today's money or what it would be compared to a modern contract for a starting QB). When he retired he was 5th all time on career passing yards, IIRC, for the NFL. Unfortunately, no Super Bowl appearances, although there was that one AFC Championship when the Oilers blew a 35-0 halftime lead to the Bills. One of the league's most schizophrenic match-ups in history.
I'm a University of Washington Husky alumni, so proud of my school! My favorite sports team to go to games, such a fun atmosphere. #PurpleReign
Lifetime UW fan. So glad this is getting exposure. GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go dawgs 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Shoutout to Wheels he is the best highlight TH-cam channel at telling the whole story of the game rather than just showing the biggest plays
Love his highlights, really great quality too. Thanks Zachary

Washington….We’re built different!!!!! Go Huskies!!!🎉🎉🎉
I used to live on the street just across the Lake Washington Ship Canal from Husky Stadium. Even when I was not at the games, I knew that the Huskies had scored, even before the radio broadcast of the play. The Siren can be heard for miles...
Spectacular game they could meet again in the pac 12 championship game a lot things need to happen for it to happen again
Can definitely see this happening! Appreciate the comment Fitzgerald 🙏
Oregon still has a chance to win the Pac 12 if they win out, but whether or not that's good enough for the playoff will depend how things shake out elsewhere in the country. Washington controls their own destiny though, if they stay undefeated they will for sure be in the playoff at the end of the year
Washington Huskies is seeking the first National championship since the great 1991 Team and the 3rd Overall in the their Football program 1960 and 1991
Could be the year that the wait comes to an end 🤞 Appreciate the comment Erik
@@DNReactsyour Welcome!👍🏻👍🏻
This is why I like watching this channel. I actually have been watching Rome Odunze since last year and I thought he was pretty good, but I wasn’t sure if you could duplicate what he did last year this year but he’s been really really good this year. In terms of where I think he’s gonna get picked, it will depend, I think as a season progresses. If he keeps playing the way he’s playing he could put himself in a position to get drafted in the first round because there’s not a lot of receivers that are highly touted besides, Marvin Harrison, Junior, personally, I love him. He’s one of my favourite receivers in the country besides Roman Wilson at Michigan
Thanks so much Michael, really appreciate the comment!
As a Midwesterner I am a Big Ten fan.
🔥🔥🔥
I’m glad you got to watch the new best team in the BIG 10
0:44 oh I thought you were announcing you were moving in together 🤣🤣🤣

I was hoping you would react to this! Probably the greatest (and most stressful) game I've ever watched as a Husky fan
Thank you for the comment 🙏 Glad you enjoyed and a great win!
Your right on the great blocking play one of our corners got hurt and our linebacker. Massive turning point
Definitely did feel like it was yeah. Thanks for the comment and confirmation, really appreciate it 🙏
7:30 Yes, his injury history is probably why he came back for a 6th year. He wanted to boost his draft profile. Show that he could stay healthy 2 straight seasons.
Thanks Shelly, appreciate the context 🙏
I’m a Duck, before this game Oregon had the number 1 pass defense in the nation, number 9 overall defense, number 2 offense in the nation but Washington had the number 1 pass offense and the best player in the country. Oregon and Washington hate each other. Sorta… we respect each other more now than we used to. This rivalry goes back and forth a lot at this point. We played really aggressive as we always do. For some reason this cut didn’t show our 4th and go fails which gave Washington between a 6-10 point swing and that was the decider really. I’m not disappointed in the decisions. I love the risky nature of our team. Most times it works but Washington was just to prepared and to good this game. Hopefully we both win out and meet in Vegas for the last pac 12 championship before we move to the big 10 next year. Both these teams could end up in the playoff. They were both shown immense amounts of respect. Oregon only dropped one spot after the loss and Washington vaulted top 5. GO DUCKS!
Brilliant content as usual lads 👍
Thank you so much 🙏
My dad raised me on Husky games. I'm still buzzing after this one.
🔥🔥🔥
You guys should react to the game last year between these two, it was close as well.
Appreciate the suggestion, we’ll add that one to our list, thank you 🙏
Penix is great because he has a very good offensive line that protects him from getting constantly hit. For him to really shine in the NFL, he would need to be on a team that has an excellent offensive line. And the reason he was less effective in the second half, was because he was cramping for most of the entire second half, and in a great deal of pain. Yet he only needed 2 passes at the end to give Washington the lead, and fortunately the Duck FG kicker missed it at the end!
Thanks for the info David, appreciate this
Penix was actually receiving IV fluids in the medical tent right up until the final drive. UW had prepared their backup quarterback to go in, but Penix got his IV needles pulled out and he went right back on the field and won the game for them. NFL teams really appreciate that kind of fight in a quarterback. Assuming he stays healthy this season, expect him to be drafted in the first round.
Tayvon Austin has the best highlight tape in history, that video is burned in every mans memory in the usa
Hey Owen, this one is up in the playlists, hoping you found it there or in search okay 🤞
I really enjoyed watching this!
Thank you, that’s awesome
With injury riddled players they usually fall in the draft. The question is how much though. Some teams will get a guy's medicals and completely cross them off their draft board, while other teams will risk it if the talent is there. With Penix its hard to tell, because we know his past medicals, but not his current state like NFL teams will. Depending on that it could really fluctuate his draft order. If his charts look okay I could see a team gambling and him being an early 1st round pick and the 3rd QB off the board (Behind Caleb Williams and Drake Maye), but if there are true red flags he could fall to maybe the 3rd or 4th round. We've seen players fall before like last year many thought a TE Darnell Washington would be a borderline 1st round pick, but because of medicals he fell to the bottom of the 3rd round. But We've also seen players like Jaylon Smith taken at pick 34 despite tearing his whole knee right before the draft and knowing he was going to have to sit out a year.
Basically injuries with prospects are super nuanced, and we dont have enough information to have a reasonable guess of how much players will be effected by it. Just depends on each team and how confident they feel in the talent and how much of a risk they want to take.
Thank you so much for this breakdown and the context Kyle, a great read. Appreciate the comment 🙏
Houston West Virginia insane ending
Appreciate the suggestion, thank you 🙏
@@DNReacts and if u get around to it maybe Boise st Colorado state insane ending and Stanford Colorado
The best part is that in Washington state, October 14th is officially the first day of duck hunting season.
😅😂 Wow that’s incredible lol. Appreciate the comment
Barring catastrophe, Penix will almost certainly be drafted, but I think he will be around a 2nd round pick. 2nd round is certainly respectable and I honestly think he has the brightest NFL future potential if he stays healthy, but for a guy who could win the Heisman that would be a pretty low draft position
Thanks Zachary, appreciate the context behind this 🙏
I love how much these blokes love American football especially their knowledge compared to when I watched them first watch and only Nick knew a smidge about the rules. Both are hardcore fans by now.
Thanks Christian, appreciate this and your support from the beginning 🙏
Penix was cramping during this game. He was taking iv fluids between offensive series
Hurt his ribs too I believe
Thanks for the info, appreciate the comment 🙏
@@PapaGirth69420 after the game. Post game conference Grub said penix was good. Took one good hit but overall was in good health other than the cramping issue.
We have the exact same siren warning in my home town outside of Pittsburgh and it is tested every Friday at noon, also. You would feel right at home.
No way? That’s Awesome 😂 Would bring back memories
Peep Luther burden III, true soph so has to come back next year but has been arguably best wr in country
As an Oregon fan I was screaming at the coach. I understand that the kicker would have had to make each kick, but the 2 times we went for it on 4th down when in field goal range and we didn’t make it. Potentially at the end we could have still been up by 3 points instead of down by 3. And not to punt at the end and force Washington to go a full field. Was crazy especially with a lead
I was very amazed seeing my Huskies defeat the Ducks in Husky Stadium in an amazing high scoring game.
It won’t be surprising if the Huskies play the Ducks in the PAC 12 championship game.
Been a hot minute since that place was cracking like that! Good lord great visuals of the environment

Injury history definitely plays into an organization's decision making when vetting a potential draft pick

Conference realignment is a two-edged sword, but what it has done has given CFB fans great Saturday games.

Perfect example of how there are no absolute limits to opportunity in the USA based on where you're from. Washington head coach Kalen DeBoer grew up in Milbank, South Dakota, population 3500. He played and later served as head football coach at a small Baptist college in Sioux Falls, winning multiple national championships at a level below NCAA Division 2. He then worked his way through lesser FCS and FBS programs as an offensive coordinator before returning to the head coaching ranks and eventually arriving in Seattle. He knows a few things about running a great offense, obviously.
Wow, thanks some backstory Brent, appreciate this 🙏
Eric Crouch won Heisman, got drafted, and retired in first training camp.
Penix Jr. displays elite ball placement. He's already 23 and in his 6th year of college. Injuries are a concern and some teams may not consider him in the draft but it only takes one team to pull the trigger. I doubt he lasts the second round.
Thanks JP. Appreciate the context 🙏
FYI OSU is down to their 4th string running back for the game next week and their 2nd best receiver is slightly injured and may not play but they are still making things happen
Yeah but Hayden the RB looks really good. I'm saying this as a Michigan fan.... Ohio state may have stumbled into finding the RB who can get their run game going.
@@hayfieldhermit9657 as a buckeye fan I appreciate that because I agree, he can move the ball nicely but he still ain’t no Blake Corum
@@beigekhakis7667 I feel like the irony in all this is that Penn State has built the kind of defense you would want to go against OSU. They have the fast edge rushers and great corners....and yet they have not beat OSU with that formula so far. And there's a lot of people leaning towards Penn State in this one, but I think people are overlooking how much OSU's D has improved in Knowles second year. Penn State couldn't beat OSU the last 2 years while OSU's D went AWOL....so I don't understand why people would suddenly think Penn State will win now that OSU's D is Back? I could keep going, but I don't want to write a book about this.
@@hayfieldhermit9657 plus all our skill positions still excel even with McCord tossing the ball, only thing with the defense is the secondary making weak tackles like 20% of the time and giving up those 2-4 yard rushes, but either way it’ll be a good game and so will the TTUN game
Washington, Oregon, USC, and UCLA will be joining the BigTen next year. The BigTen will have 18 teams. And all the B10 teams are in the Midwest or East Coast. So, a lot of travelling for those West Coast teams. It is insane what has happened to the Big Five conferences the past few years. So many teams have changed conferences.
Great game!! Speaking from an fan of the Ducks!
Marv, his teammate Emeka Egbuka, and Odunze are the top 3 and should all be first rounders
I think there’s a good chance too. Appreciate the comment 🙏

Marvin Harrison Jr. Is the best WR in the nation and will be a top 5 pick.
Love this! Thanks for the comment 🙏
Rome Odunze would have been a first or second round pick last year but wanted to come back. He will be a top 15 pick this year
As a husky alumni this was fun to watch
🔥🔥🔥
Was at Penn State this past Saturday to watch a real nailbiter with my old roommate at Penn State (and I mean old--we were roommates from 78-80') in which PSU just barely slid by against UMass, 62-0. Game with Ohio State is in Columbus at a strange time for such a big game--12 noon Eastern US time.
I must admit I’m relieved with the time as I’m going to get to see the whole game no worries. Hoping it’ll be a classic 🤞
That’s awesome re Room mates. Love that! I’m so bad at staying in contact with old friends.
Players most certainly slide in the draft because of injury issues, both past and present. A notable recent case was DK Metcalf who slid all the way to the last pick in the 2nd round despite being graded as a top ten pick by talent, but because of a bad neck injury he had in college that should have ended his career, teams backed off. BUT QBs are always "overdrafted" simply because good QB talent is always in short supply. So QBs that might not be worth a 2nd round pick talent-wise may end up drafted higher in the 1st round simply because there are only 3 or 4 QBs with any obvious starting potential worth drafting. Teams will also jump up several rounds or trade multiple years of picks just to skip up a couple picks higher and make sure they don't miss their QB, this happened in the last draft.
Another factor elevating a QB to the 1st round is the mandatory 5th year option in rookie contracts of 1st round picks. This increases the trade value of the last few picks in the 1st round, often held by the top teams, because teams wanting to select a 2nd round talent at QB often want to move up to the end of first round to get that 5th year option. QBs can be expensive to resign if they turn out to be any good but it can take a few years to develop some of the less seasoned players a team may draft lower. Having the extra option year helps a team keep them on the hook for an extra year. An important option to have especially if the team spends two or three years developing that QB into a starter only to have them become too expensive to risk keeping after just a single season of production. A good example of a QB that was an end of the first round pick that many were going to wait on, is Lamar Jackson, who most wanted to play WR in the NFL.
As far as the Heisman Trophy goes, it is no guarantee of either draft position or future NFL achievement. Quite a few have flopped in the NFL. One interesting fact is that no Heisman winning "QB" has been drafted #1 overall AND gone on to win a Super Bowl (as a starter) for the team that drafted them. Only Jim Plunkett, who won the Heisman at Stanford in 1970 and was drafted #1 overall in 1971 by New England, managed to win a Super Bowl, two actually, but he did it for the Raiders [SB XV, 1980 season - SB XVIII, 1983 season] . Otherwise, Plunkett's career was mediocre by any standard.
Only a single other Heisman winning QB has even won a Super Bowl as the starting QB. Roger Staubach; Heisman winner in 1963, he was drafted late in the 160s by both leagues (NFL/AFL) in 1964. He would go on to lead the Dallas Cowboys to two SB victories. [SB VI, 1971 season - SB XII, 1977 season] It should be noted the late draft pick was due to his the mandatory service in the US Navy he was required to complete because he went to the USN Academy. Otherwise he would likely have been picked #1 overall that year. But he wasn't...
Note: Paul Hornung, played on the winning Packers team in SB I, was a Heisman winning QB (1956) and was drafted #1 overall - but he played RB in the NFL and did not start at QB in the SB. Football was more of a ground attack game back then and many teams ran the ball almost exclusively, especially in college.
Love the context and info here. Really appreciate the breakdown, great insight into how it’s worked in the past 🙏
after suffering through Ty Willingham and Jimmy lake Kalen deboer is a gift from heaven
The bad part of conference realignment is that there won't be as many non-conference powderpuff games as sometimes those FCS teams win.
Marvin Harrison Jr. from Ohio State is pretty much a lock to be the first WR drafted next year. The dude is unreal, he's basically single-handedly carrying Ohio State's offense which is unheard of for a wide receiver
Thanks for the context Zachary. I remember the Harrison Jr watch, he already looked NFL ready last season. An awesome player!
UW HUSKIES--"Go Purple...Be Gold"
The injury history will def effect his draft stock but because teams are always so hungry for a game changer at qb he will still be drafted in the first three rounds most likely depending on how the rest of the season goes
Injuries are a part of football. If you didn’t get injured in college then you’re going to end up injured at some point in the NFL. Scounts and teams expect it. Its the calculated risk for each team, that they plan for, not an exclusion or significant detriment to the player. Scouts are evaluating the types of injuries sustained, severity of those injuries, impact on the players performance and probably of re-injury. They’re not afraid of drafting a player with past injuries (look at Anthony Richardson - 1st RD and out for the season) just the probability of future injuries or reaggrivating previous ones. And then the players proven ability to continue to perform at a high competitive level when or while injured. Penix is doing himself a favor by proving he is not fragile and prone to severe injury and that he can persist and play through medium or mild injury. So a scout wants to minimize high risk (likelihood of severe injury) and maximize ROI (low risk or infrequency of injury) over the term of the contract. As long as the reward, regardless of injury history, outweighs the risk of significant injury, his draft value won’t be severely hampered.
Really appreciate the breakdown and context, thank you 🙏
There's definitely a chance that Michael Penix will go into the draft process and he won't pass medical exams for teams and he will fall down the draft boards. It happens.
There's a possibility that both of these quarterbacks get picked in the first round. Washington WR Rome Odunze is on that trajectory too.
Go Dawgz!
Bo Nix, the University of Oregon quarterback, transferred from Auburn University prior to the 2022 season. This is his fifth and last season. Very few players get 5 years of eligibility from the NCAA, usually it's just four, to get anything beyond that the NCAA has to be petitioned. With COVID, the petitioner extra seasons is at an all time high. A University of Miami tight end petitioned for a 9th season and was denied.
Go on mate Huskies are on fire u can't stop our supermcey
6:55 - As Nick says, it would definitely be taken into consideration although, when the talent is there, there are usually plenty of teams willing to take the gamble. I'm betting that it'll be more of a tie-breaker when comparing him to others of similar talent at the same position than a complete knock on his resume.
15:56 - Odunze is technically a redshirt junior but that still makes him draft eligible. (He's not a traditional redshirt since Washington played 4 games in 2020 and he played in all 4 but he's in his 3rd full season, hence the junior status but he's been in college for 4, hence the redshirt designation. Most redshirts sit out an entire year or get injured early one year so it doesn't count as a year for eligibility but COVID obviously messed up the usual here as well.) You have to be 3 years out of high school to enter the NFL Draft so college class or years of college football experience don't necessarily matter. I just searched some draft sites and most put him late first round. I could see that moving if he keeps playing this well.
16:07 - Marvin Harrison Jr. without a doubt.
23:30 - It's not over for the Ducks at all. If they run the table, they could meet up with Washington again in the Pac-12 Championship Game and, depending on how other conferences shake out, that could decide which of the 2 goes to the CFP.
Love the comment, thank you for the info Kevin! This is great 🔥
Penix will get drafted for certain, but he won't likely be the 1st or 2nd QB taken. Probably not 3rd or 4th either. He is also about 2 years older than most other college QB's, which works against him. Winning the Heisman doesn't have a lot of sway in where you get drafted.
Appreciate the context Steve, thanks for the comment 🙏
Love hearing Nick say Go OSU!
Anything to wind Damo up 😂
I feel dirty even thinking those words. I'm not old enough to hear that and I'm 35. Warn us next time your going to drop the O bomb. Thanks!

Penix apparently was having serious cramping issues throughout the second half which is why he looked off in the third and early fourth quarter.
Had heard something similar too, appreciate the context, thank you 🙏
In the lead up to the Tennessee game I implore you to take part in an emerging Alabama tradition. Every year many of us watch "I Hate Tennessee" to get things in the right mood. It is a fairly short video with a student in a red Alabama sweatshirt. This is how rational people feel about Tennessee.
Y’all saying you haven’t heard a name said as much as Irving was said in this game… Have you forgotten about keeping up with the Sanders is from Colorado versus TCU back in week one? Lol.
Haha that’s true 😂 there are Sanders in every position!!
Let's go Dawgs!
Penix will get drafted next April but teams might be afraid to draft him in the first round.
Odunze is gonna be the 2nd best receiver in the draft behind Marvin Harrison Jr.. although he might have a higher ceiling because Rome’s significantly faster.
Great game to review guys!! To answer your question Damo on Pendix injuries, there will likely be some impact, but some of that is also the other QBs in the draft. Your likely going to have Williams of USC and he has a Heisman already. Then you will have possibly other QBs McCarthy of Michigan could go pro, I think Maye of NC will be eligible, even Nix of Oregon. Could be a packed QB class this year, so the injuries could hurt him. I think most of those injuries were from his time at Indiana. As I remember some of the games there, their O line was not great at protection.
The PSU and OSU game should be pretty good, should be some rain and wind, so that could be helpful to PSU as Ohio State has had some running problems this year. But I am a Michigan fan so I am a bit bias. Actually, not sure who I am rooting for in that one as all three teams are basically equal. The big ten east could be exciting to watch the next few weeks.
Also it hit me today that you guys have been only watching college ball for a year and you guys have both gotten into it. You both have picked up the nuance of the game so we'll in the last year, it's fun watching the games with you. Enjoy the game this weekend, going to be fun going into the final stretch.
Cheer on PSU Bryan 😅 Really appreciate this comment, the breakdown is awesome too for the 2024 Draft Class. Thank you 🙏
It's kind of a shame, because Nix actually had a great game too, but he kinda got sabotaged by some of the coaching decisions. Still, great game to watch, even as a neutral fan.
Odunze, Marvin Harrison and Keon Colemon separated themselves as the top 3 WRs for the upcoming draft. So people will argue for Emeka Egbuka (mostly Ohio State fans) that he is the second best WR in college but that is nonsense. I'm guessing Harrison will go first of the three because of all the hype, but of those three I think Coleman is the most explosive and gets the best separation. I think all three will be great though (if they land somewhere with a decent QB)
The Ducks and Huskies will meet again in the Pac12 Championship.
You guys need to check out West Virginia VS Houston
Appreciate the suggestion, thank you 🙏
Go Dawgs!!! Bow Down To Washington!!!!
They rematch this week. At this point troy Franklin and bo nix (Oregon QB and WR) are ahead of Washingtons duo in yards and touchdowns lol huck the fuskies
College Football is 10x better/more entertaining than the NFL.
Injuries could cost him in being a late round pick, ergo smaller contract
You guys should reach to Mike McDaniel….miamis head coach who is quite the character
Appreciate the suggestion, thank you 🙏
I'm biased, but Florida vs South Carolina would be a great watch. Came down right to the end!
Appreciate the suggestion, thank you 🙏
A team that needs a good explosive quarterback will draft him in the first or second round because of the rookie pay scale but he won't get a lot of garenteed money. And he would have to stay healthy for 4 5 seasons before becoming a free agent.
