Unless your German is better than his English, I'd cut the guy some slack. To a German, "clothes" is a tricky word to say if you have seen it written down but haven't heard it. If you wanted to write it phonetically using German (or pre-Norman English) rules of spelling and pronunciation, it would be more like "cloeths" (ignoring the fact that the "t" and the "h" together make a sound which doesn't occur in German at all). Moving the "e" to after the consonant was trendy in Dr Johnson's day and has become entrenched in modern English, even though it makes no logical sense. In German, if a word has a consonant followed by an "e", you pronounce both the consonant and then the "e", in the order they're written (e.g. "pflaume"). If you want to use an "e" to change the way another vowel is pronounced, you would put the "e" immediately after the relevant vowel (although by convention, in this case the "e" is usually omitted and an umlaut is placed over the vowel instead (e.g. hoeren becomes hören)).
I hope you know half of that was their accent not the word. Like funny and London, they just say it differently like someone from the north would say crik or yous and southerners would say y'all or creek. It's just regional.

It's not until watching older videos back that I've realised how much they've developed over the past decade - it must have been so difficult at first not being able to access the main language being spoken, yet now you'd never know any difference in their recent interviews!
90 % of all germans speak english, but only 5% of all english-speaking people do also know how to speak german. they do make mistakes, but you guys are not in the position to make fun of their english considering you don't even understand a single word of their motherlanguage. that's pathetic.
I think I remember them saying that they were both terrible at learning English, but Tom was the worst. Cute video lol their English has come a long way though, back wen they released their first English-language album they couldnt even speak it really.
