Since he made a contract to change his appearance to his brother's face (the man who was engaged to Gumi and went yandere because Gumi liked Gakupo more. He tried to kill his brother, but Gumi wanted to save Gakupo so she pretended she hated him in order to keep him alive. But then Gakupo misunderstood and snapped, killing all of the members of his family, including his brother. Then an Iroha character that possesses the body of a Haku character offers him a contract with the list demon right before Gakupo decides to kill himself. So he took his brother's identity and everybody thinks he is his brother. Since Gakupo was a bastard child and had an ugly deformation on his face, everyone hated him and he couldn't take the title of Duke even though he was oldest. With his brother's face, the heir of the Venomania household, Gakupo became Duke. But then he lost all of his memories tampering with magic and thinks that he is actually his brother, forgetting who he really was. After a few people were kidnapped), Gumi meets Gakupo again and thinks that Gakupo is the yandere brother she's supposed to be engaged to. She actually hated the brother, hence why Gumi left Gakupo on the floor when he was stabbed to death. So it was all a huge misunderstanding. Also, everybody has different names. Gakupo is Sateriasis Venomania (formerly Cherubim) Gumi is Gumina Glassred Luka is Lukana Octo Miku is Mikulia Greeonio Kaito is Karchess Crim Iroha with a Haku body is I.R. (formerly Irina Clockworker), and the body is a girl named Haru Netsuma. And etcetera... Plus, did you know that Meiko from Evil Food Eater Conchita is related to Venomania? Along with Luka from The Tailor Shop of Enbizaka. And the Red Swordswoman in Daughter of Evil/Servant of Evil. And practically 1/3 of all Evillious Chronicles characters are related to Duke Venomania in some way. You're better off reading the light novels tbh
