I think the reason those two are the least played is cuz you meet a Gith AND a Cleric almost immediately
So it pushes you to pick a different class n race just so you can see more combat variety
That and no one likes Githyanki
This and the fact that Bae'zel is so gorgeous that when i wanted to make a gith Tav, I realized that i wasn't able to be as beautiful as Bae'zel 😔

Even so, if you wanted to play as a cleric, warlock, barbarian, fighter, rogue, or wizard, you’d be more likely to take an origin character, which I do not think is captured in the Larian data.
@@beefpelicanit is captured by their data, but I don't believe they count anyone playing as Laezel as playing as Gith (or the others). They put out a stat that Gale is the most popular origin choice, so they do keep track of that, but I think they only factor in custom PCs in the race stats.

This was the most entertaining BG3 playthrough I've seen to date. Twilight Eclipse, with his real Githyanki hair, is a hoot. I love your narration of his adventures and can't wait to see more.

My first playthrough I am doing solo on tactician. Shadowheart was super annoying to avoid. Playing as bard. So far so good.

I just started my second run 3 days ago, and i wanted to force myself to do an evil runthrough... even went Dark Urges. I was doing pretty well until it came time to betraying the tieflings in the Emerald Grove. Wyll and Karlach left me after the initial fight, and as the goblins started slaughtering the civilians... nope. Nope nope nope. I'm out. I can't. 🤣 I couldn't even make it past the first half of the first Act lmao.
and the game still wants to make it difficult for ya, what a scam.

My favourite part was “As Twilight Eclipse rammed the stick through Astarion’s chest, he broke the heart of the fangirls witnessing. He also broke Astarion’s heart but that’s a topic for another day.” It may not have been in the video, but it was my favourite part nonetheless!

i like visiting the blighted village after asterion tells me he’s a vampire because the game doesn’t really have another line for him, so he still pretends he didn’t feast on that boar. kinda comes across like he’s embarrassed
Watching Astarion slip on the grease in the crypt, and watching it explode makes me laugh every time. This video and its sequel are masterpieces.
Astarions death was so sudden, this whole thing was a roller coaster. Twilight Eclipse is the hero we all needed, him and his perfect hair.

The wonderfully 100% real flowing locks of Twilight Eclipse compelled me to sub. Even though he staked Astarion and made Karlach run away, which were hard to watch indeed. But then one glance at this green prince flicking his completely-growing-out-of-his-own-head mane and I'm dragged back in. He's like a harpy that enthralls you with its beautiful singing, but with hair.

It's weird Githyanki are played so little considering how objectively strong they are compared to most other races.
Because they are known for stealing christmases and no one likes that.
I check back every few days to see if a sequel is out yet. Ended up re-watching the whole video. It’s a work of art.

I reckon the reason cleric is the least played class is because players have Shadowheart. She's much harder to get rid of than the other companions, she carries an important story item you cant take and she's attractive. Most players have a reason to bring her along and thus dont need two clerics
I agree. I think druid is easily the least played class for the same reasons, you only get druid companions later on and they arent particularly important.

they're so ectomorphic. I made my guardian a githyanki but I gave him blueish skin and mermaid hair because I had to hold myself back from making my own character rainbow dash. Incidentally he fits right in in the dream realm

I did in fact play like this for my first game in bg3, I thought being a cleric of Vlaakith would be hilarious, and it was.
Part of me wants to see if I can play a gnomish cleric of Vlaakith, now.
Parts of this hurt to watch bc of the companions, then in certain parts I was worried I was spoiled but like, I never want to experience those so it was more enlightening that spoiling for me lol. This was a wild ride and I kinda wanna play a chaotic and/or evil character now.
I always try evil characters but the most I can do is like "morally grey"... I can't bring myself to knowing send companions off to their deaths
@@trancedoutkidI normally have a lot of fun with evil characters but in this game I simply couldn't because characters just feel so realistic. And also because there are only four evil companions and at least two of whom you kinda just kill anyways if you're pure evil type. The game is easy to solo but also super boring that way 😔.

betraying karlach as an evil character still haunts me even though my character had reasons for it (really misguided, selfish reasons but still).

Seeing Shadowheart get ignored time and again is really funny, but watching Astarion die honestly hurt me.
On a side note, you and Twilight Eclipse's totally authentic hair earned a new sub.
I'm keeping him in my party for the Dark Urge play....not sure who else will make it past act 1.....

@@Tinil0 Firstly, no. Secondly from which perspective? Shadowheart has the worst personality and dialogue-wise it's either her or Wyll that are worst. Combat-wise Shadowheart is very important, unless of course you have a players as a cleric, in which case she is completely and utterly useless. Even then Astarion is very easily built with any number of stealth archer based builds and hits some of the highest damage output out of any NPC.
His dialogue is top-tier, his reactions and quips are amazing, he works on both good and evil aligned play throughs, he has his own great story to run through, and he's a very interesting a deep character one you get close enough to him to break down those walls of charisma he uses to protect himself.
@@_lime. Shadowheart hates violence and loves children. Astarion just loves being evil. He is more shallow than a puddle that is Lae'zel. Even his redemption arc is closer to damage mitigation than changing one's ways.
The scene is still hard to watch. The spawn doesn't deserve this kind of a warrior's death. In the Underdark, there is a conveniently placed garden gnome that accepts Astarion as a sacrifice.

the save scum narration is fucking hilarious
My main play through was as a male gith romancing Lae'zel. The amount of lore when i went mountain pass was stellar. And it continued deep into act 3. Truly has to he one of the most lore integrated playthroughs in the game. I learned tons about the gith.

I think the gith race has honestly some of the best benefits. You get mage hand, a psyionic jump 3x of your normal jump and a free misty step all on short rest and the Astral knowledge is amazing to help with lacking proficiencies of your choosing.
The downside is literally everyone except the gith hates you

I'm also continually amazed how difficult it must've been to make this game where they have seemed to program every chaotic possibility players can come up with while keeping the story going without breaking it. Like I'm amazed the game is functional because of how much stuff they had to have thought of and all the possible butterfly effects they cause in the world.

I'm playing a githyanki War Cleric in my main co-op game and he whips so much ass. Cleric is incredible fun. Between using Click Heels alongside Spirit Guardians to act as a living lawnmower, body-blocking chokepoints with Sanctuary, and pretty much smiting dudes with early Silver Sword of the Astral Plane, there's so much to do and so many ways to approach encounters. I love this class, man. And githyanki are such a bastard powerful race.
I know, I had loads of fun with my cleric, and if you're attached to Shart for some reason you can easily reclass her to paladin.
It still makes sense story-wise
