I really hope that in the event of mankind becoming extinct, this is the one clip that survives, to show the aliens what our civilisation was like at its peak. Amazing scenes. A completely wasted Shaun giving Zippy an affectionate approving head-rub at the end is perfection. Never forget that The Word is also the programme that gave us Snoop Dogg being attacked by Emu and Rod Hull. What a time it was to be alive!

@@richardhaynes3925 Zippy is still working on it I’ve heard from former ITV colleagues. Currently Zip is employed by SAGE to devise a children’s show on blue bandaids.

And thats when Black Grape was created and the rest history.....Shaun has said many times he should of payed Zippy and George..... instead of having every penny he earned for over 10years being given to Rod Jane and Freddy, He can laugh about it now.

I used to get flute lessons from this guy when I was in primary school. Think his name was Ian Clarke. Great flautist and teacher.
