    Nancy Sinatra comes across as a great lady.
    She is friendly and warm and has a great sense of humour.
    I sure had the hots for her when she sang ''BOOTS'' (I was just one of a couple of million other English kids that felt the same way).
    But yeah, Nancy is a super lady. I would love to meet her and listen to her stories of her Dad and The Rat Pack and her own career.

    Considering the wealth and fame she comes from, Nancy's very down to earth, a nice little old lady, sort of like a diner waitress who'd say, "That'll put meat on your bones, honey."

    • @akrenwinkle
      @akrenwinkle 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Chris Johnson I've never figured her out. A very nice bland girl, now a nice bland grandmother. I don't know if she really wanted a career, or went through it to please her father. I saw her on another video, invited to the Paley Center to discuss Frank's television work. She showed up in a jacket. Not a Mandarin jacket or some such. I mean an outdoor jacket that one might wear shopping at Target. I had to wonder what she was thinking, did father and daughter have much in common, did he really spend much time with her? Until illnesses struck, Frank was busy... an understatement.

    • @akrenwinkle
      @akrenwinkle 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Chris Johnson I regret to say that I don't look at Nancy's career historically, because I was around and aware at the time. I never got it. But you're right, she didn't take things to seriously. And by that I mean she never really seemed to have the ambition to develop herself, reach higher than being Frank's daughter. I'm still struck by her appearance to honor her father at the Paley Center; she looked as if she were going to check out tires at Sears. Some of the things she has said make no sense, seems to be about her imaginary father, as opposed to the real Frank, but I don't want to get into that.

    • @scottg3110
      @scottg3110 8 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      +A Krenwinkle Maybe, as a mature woman...she had a bit of a chill that day? Her coat wasn't a cheap one, and she looked just fine in it. Hard to believe the focus on her garment. She's not out to impress anyone and has achieved enough in her life to wear whatever she pleases.
      Besides...ever see the goofy outfits the so-called "stars" wear today? They look like circus clowns. Ms. Sinatra looked pretty and comfortable in her own skin...as she should.

    • @akrenwinkle
      @akrenwinkle 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Scott G Yes, her coat was a cheap one, certainly less than $100, and would have horrified her father to think she would wear an outdoor jacket with a cheap-looking peace symbol as a necklace at an event in his honor. Yes, lamb chop, believe that I would focus on her overly casual, sloppy appearance at an event held at the prestigious Paley Center before an audience, with a more respectfully attired panel around her. No, the goofy attire of today's so-called stars has nothing to do with this event in Frank's honor. Certainly Frank taught her nothing about singing, but at least some of his clean, elegant taste could have rubbed off on her. I have a feeling you will reply, and it will not be about Frank or Nancy, but about me. I don't care.

    • @scottg3110
      @scottg3110 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      +A Krenwinkle Per a typical insulting response due to the anonymity of the internet.
      Will I reply about YOU? Perhaps if you had proper manners....ironically what you seem to be attacking Ms. Sinatra about...I would not have had to direct my response to you.
      Lamb chop? What was that about? Weird. Just like your coat fixation instead of the ladies character. Your attacks on her would have garnered you a solid punch to the nose from Frank himself.

    Nancy Sinatra es la hija de un Icono de la música el Jazz al igual que ella se convirtió también en un Icono del Pop de los años 60 Es un emblema la canción interpretada por ella You Only Live Twice que pertenece a una de las películas de James Bond y porque no decir también que es una alegoría escuchar escuchar los duetos que hacen padre e hija en el tema Samthing Stupid. Frank ya partió es una leyenda Nancy es una leyenda viviente.

    Nancy Sinatra is a woman I admire very much. The fact that she didn`t sleep with Elvis because he was married makes me respect her immensely. She was smitten and even in love with him, and although she was divorced, she didn`t give in to Elvis` flirting.
    She`s a classy woman with principles and self-respect.
    If all women would draw a line and tell men who are in relationships to buzz off, more children would grow up having a father by their side.

    There is no date listed for when her interview was filmed, but in seeing Gavin McLeod, it was before his passing on May 29, 2021, at 90. She celebrated her 82nd birthday this last June 8 (2022). She was one of the 1960s great icons and singers in that fantastic pop song decade! She is outstanding and memorable in singing the title introduction song to the 1967 James Bond film, "You Only Live Twice" which peaked at #44 on the Billboard Hot 100 (US, #3 on the Adult Contemporary chart) and #11 in the UK. Her title song is considered one of the top 5 in the entire James Bond songs! 1967 was one of her greatest years with: "Something Stupid (4 weeks at #1 with Frank), "You Only Live Twice", "Jackson" (#14, with Lee Hazelwood), and "Love Eyes" (#15). One of my favorite Nancy videos is her, in her stunningly sexiest, at 26, singing "Sugar Town" (#5, rel. Dec. 1966; peak in Jan. 1967; #1 on the Easy Listening chart, and earning her a gold record), here: th-cam.com/video/pjsh2j7W6Bo/w-d-xo.html

    In "My Father, Mr. Television" Milton Berle also said Jack Benny was the only comedian who could just look at him and he'd break-out laughing. What a gift Jack Benny had! I don't reccomend the biography though because the last few chapters were written for vengance by Berle's adopted son who decided to dishonor his dad when he had found there was no inheritance money forth-coming. Milton Berle deserves a biography with honors, not a rag like that!

    Nancy seems very down to earth, not what I would have expected. And glad to see the quality. Great to hear her comments about Jack Benny. How did they let Gavin McLeod get in there? And why? And give Mo a break - he did what he could do with the interloper.

    "The closest of seeing Him alive"..with all due respect, if seeing Mr. Sinatra alive in the London palladium and the money generated from it would go to Mr. Sinatra's Charities, then yes It would be a good thing. I love Mr. Sinatra so much, that it would be sad to see him played out "alive" and the money goes out to profiteers! But, I hope it was just that!!

    I am NOT a fan of Frank Sinatra. He was a snob and rude to fans. As much as you {Nancy} adore your father and praise him. That is fine. He's your father and you think the world of him. But, truth being told, He was NOT the GREAT GUY you are trying to portrait. He was a rude and uppity snob to many people. Just thought I would share what I know to be true. Thank you. Patty

    For her musical career, Nancy Sinatra should thank, three times a day, Lee Hazlewood...Lee H.'s composition "These boots are made for walkin'" was Nancy's "launch pad" in the top music of those years...There is also a very beautiful version of the song made by Lee H....The timbre of his voice is impressive, fascinating, like Barry White's voice...Why didn't my mother give birth to me and me with a voice like his?....Now I "missed"...Maybe next time ....!!....
