The thing about these, they sound like HEAVEN. I'd hope WMR would install an audio system that plays these noises when 730s accelerate/decelerate. They're also quite wide and airy feeling yet cozy. But, they are very dirty, amd the seats are quite narrow and you can feel the springs. Still a better interior than the 165s on chiltern.
I remember these when they entered service. Back then they were very good. Unfortunately they weren't looked after. Sure they got refreshes but the PIS choice was poor and they aren't kept clean. Also as you say a little more padding is really required to make them comfortable.
I don't agree with them being overrated. When they started service they didn't perform so well. However time passes the performance did improve. However they aren't looked after so well with their time with WMR. Yes they are so dirty and pretty stained. Ride quality is good though and the seats are decent. They're better than the 165's to me.
Nah, seats are poor in the WMR 323s. Padding is too thin. I can't speak for the GWR 165s but the Chiltern units have lovely (newish) chunky, comfortable seat bases.
@Vanmanyo You select something, i.e., choose ONE item. Selected is over a range or multiple - so it makes much more sense to say it properly, especially in the context used here. Americans aren't always the brightest with adapting English.

Much better seats on the ol' 165s.
4:35 and I took that personally 😂😂😂
Perhaps 😅😅
@@VanmanyoI think my reasons for liking them are pretty justified imo 😂😂😂
By the way, good video 👍
@@LiamsTransport1 I think reasons for them being less good are also reasonable but I agree they aren't that bad 😄
Thank you by the way 😄
Great video! I think you should review the new northern refurbished 323s when they enter service!
I doubt they'll be much different to the current ones but I'll have to give them a look when I'm next in Manchester! Thank you though
I agree, it would be good to do the northern rail units.

Nice one mate, 165’s always seem a lot more dirty to me lol
I was on one today (165) and it wasn't too bad! Maybe I'm just picky!
@@Vanmanyo Maybe! 🤣
They are nice trains, pity cleaning went down after 2022.
Not been used on Chase line only 350s on chase line. 323s were too slow for the chase line timing hense the desiros
How do u make your thumbnails?
I just use a mobile app (for that type of thumbnail in that video - I use something else now)! I think it's called Polish Photo Editor!

323s are fine over a short distance
They aren't bad units by any stretch!

*a few selectED. Select is an americanism.
I think select sounds better still!

*Americanism😉 (Capital for a proper noun)
