Golgolem from Ultraman Nexus was portrayed this way, as was Horoboros' quadruped form from Ultraman R/B
IMO Jiger was the most formidable Gamera foe. So many weapons, the spears that shoot out, the disintegration ray, the tail injection needle... a lot to deal with

The only reason Gamera won was because Gamera's hard shell protected Gamera from Gurion's hard blows with his giant blade. Although Guiron was starting to cut through Gamera's hard shell but Gamera had enough time to bite Gurion's hand to stop Gurion's assault. If Guiron and Jiger fought I believe Guiron would have killed Jiger even though Jiger has more weapons. If Guiron hits Jiger with his giant blade at least once or twice it would have killed Jiger. Just a fantasy fight.
I think Jiger IS definitely one of the best Kaiju's in Gamera but NOT even close to as being the best and definitely not better than Barugon. Since Barugon is more unique in the fact that he breathes ice cold breath that can be below 0°F and has a long tail he can use to smash frozen humans into pieces. Plus Barugon has a really good design and a modern version of him would be even better and made to be more evil and sinister
