This song is about a girlfriend who he left behind in his hometown of Gladwin, Michigan when he got his record deal and went on tour. He is married to a different woman now and they have a son & a daughter. There is a sequel to this song that is on his latest album. It is called "Gone" and it features Julia Michaels.
