This novel is total trash , why they include such kind of trash novel in syllabus, I don't understand, independence, being independent is worst and bogus idea to destroy own's life , no one is independent and no one can be , from the birth to death everyone is dependent on each other living beings, your freedom will not last forever untill you start being the slave of money , the false ego is bad for society, this kind of novel advertise the wrong concept, we should not follow Edna pontellier in our life , Sadly I have to study due to exams, thanks for the summary 👍👍👍

I came here for help regarding my exam.. but after hearing the whole story i just came to one conclusion that according to female(not all but mostly) writers freedom means running away from your responsibility. Leonce was wrong that he didn't let edna do whatever she wanted but she shouldn't left he children alone. I can write a whole book criticizing the pov of writer but eh..
