Debate with Iranian activist Shirin Ebadi and astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti

Shirin Ebadi and Samantha Cristoforetti will address the Parliament during celebrations linked to International Women's Day on 8 March. Afterwards, MEPs will discuss the challenges that human rights defenders face in standing up for sexual and reproductive health and rights.
Ebadi was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2003 for her work for democracy and human rights, especially the rights of women and children. Cristoforetti is a European Space Agency astronaut and the first woman Chief Commander of International Space Station Expedition 68.
