SIURANA, known for jumping with her horse the Moorish Queen

Siurana is also famous for its past, its
stories of beautiful princesses and battles of Moors and Christians.
The Salto de la Reina Mora is a cliff that became popular because of its history. Legend has it that Abdelazia, daughter of the vali of Siurana, when the Christian troops arrived, decided to jump into the abyss with her horse before falling into enemy hands. They say that the horse, upon seeing the cliff, tried to stop with all his might, leaving an imprint of his horseshoe on the rock, but she couldn't, and they both fell off the cliff. And from there came the famous Legend of the Moorish Queen of Siurana.
