Every one remembers this one for the escape option, but I remember this track for the moment you put Curly in the bed of the waterway cabin, so relieved...
Yeah? So do I, it displayed such a scene we wouldn't expect, not only looks so human-love like, but it changes the whole atmosphere, just 5 minutes ago you was fighting The Core of the island itself, you could've destroy everything, then you got drowned, and it's not until now you realize Curly saved your life NOT knowing you were gonna save her as well, if that's not better than Twilight, I don't know what it is
It occurs to me that Kazuma leaving like that is probably the hardest thing that he's ever tried to do. He knows that his family is over there and he's forced to accept that he can't save them. There isn't a single thing he could do, and if he stays he'll probably die. But... at least he can get Quote out of there, he can save one person.
This is my favourite song in the game. At first when you hear it by saving Sue, it sounds peaceful, but once you come back later in the game it just sounds sad and depressing.
This OST plays at different intervals in the game, and it kinda hits different everytime, but it really gave me a liminal feeling, Everything feels so empty...
To me it feels kind of like a.. not so much contented sadness, but one that's just accepted. It fits in a way, more than one of the scenes it's used for are when characters just come to terms with how little they can really do in their situation; Sue can't hatch the dragon or get Kazuma, Booster can't fight Fuyuhiko alone and can merely only offer his invention to Quote, and Kazuma can't do anything more than offer to save the one person he still knows is alive, abandoning the reaching hope that any of his family is even left. It's when you can feel your own pulse, you just hate accepting what's going on, but you can't really do anything to change it...
He's right. Bad: Every protagonist dies besides Kazuma and Quote. Normal: Toroko, King, Prof. Booster, and Curly die, and maybe the rest of the Mimigas, since it never shows them leaving the falling island. Good: Only Toroko and King die, but this is inevitable.
I think It's meant to be Booster. In the good route the messages on that computer get updated (as in a chat message) and someone somewhere gives you the instructions on how to drain Curly. At the end they say "I pray for your victory" which I'm pretty sure is something he says at another point in the game
@@faby6515 Since the game was released 2004 December you really must’ve did a pro gamer move to find this game a couple of weeks after the release date
Great song... it feels like the music is speaking to you in some way... reminds me of kirby super star rest area theme. The feelings of where it plays, the last mission you have... everything. The freeware is one everyone definetely should play. My first cavestory was freeware.
This song is perfect for the point when Kazuma asks you to escape with him it has that feeling of hope were you think that there may be a chance but also has the feeling that there is none left for even Kazuma says there is none...
hmm... you have a point there. there's so many things that just flew over my head the first time around, it's nice to be able to reflect on the actions in the game with a new perspective.

This song makes me want to go back to the past, and enjoy the stuff that was ACTUALLY good back then **Why, why can't we go back to the past, why can't we forget about most of the new stuff, except for Covid, and enjoy the stuff that was ACTUALLY good, like the Wii, or the 3DS, sure, the graphics may not be as great, but that's what makes the games that came out for those consoles and handhelds back then feel nostalgic**
There has and will always be good and bad art in any era, and the passage of time slowly but surely filters out the mundanely bad art while the good art continues to endure for generations to come (as well as the enjoyably bad art, as Tommy Wiseau's _The Room_ has proven). There were terrible games released around the time of _Cave Story_ that nobody today vocally remembers or cares about while _Cave Story_ endures as a classic; likewise, there is still both good and bad art created today. Which art is good and which art is bad? That's not for me to decide for anybody other than my own personal tastes. I prefer to wait for several months and see if the art is still fondly talked about before buying it, than to buy it on release. Still, I can somewhat grasp what you're saying. Each art is its own individual experience, and those who have sweet memories of the past can never experience them for the first time again. They _are_ still there, though, and we can all still go back to them and reminisce on how they were there for us and continue to experience them even without the novelty of doing so for the first time.
