How WEIRD is it that 189 people so far all agree that this is one of their first memories and it’s literally engraved still in our brains?! I watched this playthrough and felt like crying! I remembered so many random details, sound effects, voices, how to solve the “mini games”… it truly felt like reconnecting with my 5-year old self. Thank you so much for uploading this ❤
It’s so refreshing to find this video and see so many others having the same almost overwhelming emotional response to a memory. I always thought that I’d be alone in this nostalgia. It’s so nice to know that other people were raised forming some of the same memories as I did. Hope all of you are doing well!
As a kid I was so in love with this game I replayed it more times that I can count. Now, at almost 30 years old, I haven’t thought or remembered this game in over 2 decades so the nostalgia watching this is overwhelming 🥺🫶🏼 🍭 🍬 thank you for posting!
I remember a few cool things about this game. Occasionally, you can get random events in the hub zone such as candy-rainbows giving you an extra piece of candy, allowing you to skip one of the activities. Also, if you take absolutely nothing from King Candy's vault and the time runs out, the game actually notices and fills the chest for you, with extra dialogue from the King. You came here to get candy for the shop, after all!
This is amazing. I remember playing this around Christmas in 98! I can’t believe how much I remembered after watching this. This is our legit childhood 💜💜💜💜💜 when I have kids I want them to play these games! Lol
I always played this game with two players, not because I had anyone to play with, but because I wanted to play the segment where King Candy lets you pick candy for longer
The nostalgia this gives me makes me want to cry. Memories of being 5 and my Great Aunt helping me set this up on her computer in her vacation home in Florida.
Just had that random memory of this game and wow it is so striking to look back at it. I'm 27 years old now but man when I was a young kid I was obsessed with this game.
I used to love this game😭❤️ everytime I’d go to my aunt and uncles house when I was a kid, they would let me play it on their computer..I was obsessed❤️❤️ the memories
I grew up playing this game, and I loved playing it with my sister. I will miss those days when my sister and I used to play it along with some of the other childhood games we played together. Sometimes Lord Licorice character and design reminds me of Dick Dastardly, though.
omg nostalgia!!!! Im literally saying everything along with candy kid. i played this every single day. I'm literally ordering this and playing it. mind you I'm 26 years old. i dont care. this was my childhood. ugh the good old days when it was P.C. games
I remembered this but it wasnt until watching this video where the music came back and so dis my childhood. I got this from a cereal box, anyone else remember that Play dough game that was similar to this too
Just unlocked shocking child memories I forgot existed. fe fi fo fum what a juicy gigantic plum was stuck in my head for many years and finally I have closure, I guess the brain holds onto everything
RANDOMLY I looked up candyland characters, because I wanted to see the evolution of the characters over time, and I just so happened to see screenshots of this game. It sparked some very weird and vivid memories for me, so I curiously looked this game up.... I REMEMBER EVERYTHING! Yo, I played this game RELIGIOUSLY as a kid!!! The sounds, the games, everything is so nostalgic! It had such a huge impact on me, and I cant believe I'm just now remembering this! This little gingerbread man's voice used to irritate the heck out of younger me XD
I absolutely knew this game was real and not a figment of my dreams it makes me wonder if another game I've played is actually real or just a dream but no matter how hard I try to describe it I can never find anything
i used to think the graphics in this game were so amazing. my sister and i found this playthrough today and started watching it and it gave our parents war flashbacks
Omg I loved this game! I haven’t played this since I was little but as soon as I heard that music at the start I instantly felt like I was playing it again! My favorite part was always getting the candy at the end lol
I remember playing this in my grandparents basement all the time. 🥺 I prefer older graphics compared to the newer ones these days. Thats it I'm buying it again 😭😭😭
45:45 is the reason I enjoy emptying groceries from the store into the house. I always think of this scene! Loved this game :) Thank you for uploading!
Thank you thank you for putting up this video ! Was looking up the candy land handheld game from 97. And I couldn't figure out why I remembered something with color. And then I found your video. Wish I could buy this game so my kids could play it. So nostalgic! 🥰
this game came out a year before i was born and yet i still played it on my imac g3 in kindergarten (my uncle worked for apple so we all had macs, even though i was like 5) i remember playing this game before i could read!!! i loved it so much
Loved this game as a kid, though my version had fucked up audio from what I remember. The character's lines would play multiple times at once so it would echo their voices in a weird way which resulted in me always playing it on mute, but man did i love this game.
I was like weirdly into candy land as a kid. Like my two older brothers liked dragons and horror movies respectfully but I LIKED CANDY! That was MY ENTIRELY ORIGINAL personality trait! DO NOT STEAL!

literally wanted to cry tears of joy watching this. I loved this game so much.
I love this game too when I was a kid.
I was absolutely obsessed with this game. Played it until the disc was so scratched and it wouldn’t work anymore. I wish i could play it again 😭
Wish I could play it again too.😔
Same. I want to play it again
Same. 😢
I thankfully still have the CD and my dad's old Windows Me PC, so perhaps I will try and play these again some day :)

I hope you are too!💖🍭

I always played 2 player so I could choose to play as the strawberry 😂
@@kelbimckinley8042 I played as Strawberry as well!
Wow I remember this like it was a vivid dream. Omg. I could cry. This was a memory I tucked away until I just dug it out.

I grew up playing this game, and I loved playing it with my sister. I will miss those days when my sister and I used to play it along with some of the other childhood games we played together. Sometimes Lord Licorice character and design reminds me of Dick Dastardly, though.
thank you for this!! hearing this music and sound effects after all these years has cured me
All my friends think I’m crazy whenever I ask if they remember this game.
42:02 Lord Licorice: HALT! THIS IS PRIVATE PROPERTY! LOL
Says who?
omg nostalgia!!!! Im literally saying everything along with candy kid. i played this every single day. I'm literally ordering this and playing it. mind you I'm 26 years old. i dont care. this was my childhood. ugh the good old days when it was P.C. games

i am upset that you did not utilize the toppings at all in the ice cream sea part........:(
THE_13THVERY DISORIE me too
It's so lazily made actually. According to memory, I could paint like one or two screens and get the candy.
“Here’s lickin’ at you kid!”
Omg I cried in that moment
Oh my gosh, I would play this at my neighbor's house all the time!
I played this a lot when I was a little boy. Brings back childhood memories.
I played this when I was young too.
I remember playing this all the time on my aunt's Macintosh PowerPC.
Played this in the early 90s. I’ll be 33 this month 😢 major nostalgia.

Brooo, I thought I had hallucinated this as a kid lmao, glad to know this game actually exists 😆
Evil Lord Licorice looks just like Captain Hook from Peter Pan.
No he looks like the beetle from thumbelina more…
What happens when you click on all the licorice sticks hidden in each level?
Lord Licorice appears I remember.
This was my childhood!! I'm 26 now. 😭😭😭
I’m 23.😔But I can still be childlike, no matter how mature and older I get.😏
I remember seeing one of my cousins playing this at their house when I was just a little kid!
You didn't click on the speckled frog log outside the licorice castle! My sister and I would click on the frogs over and over again for hours.
