Ferrari 640, hands down. I am not one of the blind Ferrari fanboys but John Barnard's 640 has been one of my favorite F1 cars due to purity of its lines.
It doesn't matter that it is 10 seconds slower per lap than a current F1. I like this one better. It's more spectacular. What a beautiful sound!😍 No importa que sea 10 segundos más lento por vuelta que un F1 actual. Me gusta más este. Es más espectacular. Que hermosos sonido!😍
@@joe125ful oh for sure, but I meant that era in general had the best sounding and looking cars. The whole grid seemed more interesting to watch then as compared to now.
That Lambo engine is the same that Ayrton Senna and Mika tested in a modified McLaren in 1993. Senna worked briefly with the lambo engineers to make it better. Senna told Denis to use it and it could win the championship in 94. Denis went with Peugeot engines instead "business decision". In conclusion it was a good engine that needed a high caliber Drivers testing and inputs in a well Funded team, witch the Lambo engine never had. You can research that engine on youtube with the story on how senna went on testing it.
The only v12 that won championship after the turbo Era was Honda in 91. The best engine design was V10 which Renault has had from the beginning. Even V8 from Cosworth was better than V12. You need to consider weight, consumption, torque, place needed and so on.
What could Senna do about the engine? That said, the already designed and built engine for the season? I don't understand. He may have helped with the suspension tuning of the Honda NSX, but what you're suggesting is more than a stretch.
Pretty cool - I have the lower portion of the carbon fiber intake from this car hanging on my office wall, and I’ve had it since 1993. What a great era this was in Formula One!
I was there in '90. The shriek of that engine put even the Ferraris to shame. Sounded like they had a substanatially higher rev limit. I have a photo of a Lotus Lambo being carted away by wrecker with a geat view of the engine/exhaust.
0:21 Did i see Chrysler name on engine block?? Its from Chrysler to Lambo? Its bit strange it not sounds like typical high pinch F1. 3:23 Also that Honda 3.5L V12 sounds interesting too. 5:36 But that Ferrari 640,holy hell!
Chrysler didn’t make that engine Lamborghini did, but Chrysler did own Lamborghini at that time. Also fun fact: Lamborghini helped with development of the Dodge Viper V10.
Senna pointed out the positive qualities of the engine. He didn’t have to point out that it was thirsty, over weight and unreliable. In the end Ron payed for customer Ford engines. Senna taking a few poles and his last wins. I get why Ron went with Peugeot. The real question is, what if McLaren had the same Ford Zetec in 94 that Benetton had? Martin and Mika most certainly would have been finishing races and maybe winning a few . We’ll never know.
back to my days attending F1 (starting in 1983 at Brands Hatch 😍) and may be why I haven't bothered since Silverstone in 2011. Definitely not helped by the over intrusive involvement of the stewards in the moderns era, with tracks limits & whingeing drivers on team radio!!
This is sound like the Horns of Jericho!! Not like today the ugly F1 cars with Sound like Tuned street car, with a silencer exhaust!! Sorry for my bad english best wish Reiner from Germany
Which of the 3 featured F1 cars do you like best? 🤔
MP4/6. Easily the best of the 3.
The first . Only because it was the 1st.
Why is it unreliable
All legends, and with fantastic sounds. But nothing beats a Ferrari V12 in a formula 1 car in terms of pure beauty.
Ferrari 640, hands down. I am not one of the blind Ferrari fanboys but John Barnard's 640 has been one of my favorite F1 cars due to purity of its lines.
Peak f1 design imo, love the look of these cars and the sounds. Really need to bring back the nice sounding engines.

Best sounding F1 cars ever
Without question, (89),90-93 were the nicest looking cars as well.

Thé best sound is a 412 T2

This is the way back to real f1 car
Slow? Yes. Unreliable? Yes. Sounds amazing? Absolutely!
The best kind of slow
It hangs around so we can hear it longer lol

good old days sound
V12 never disappoint
Anyone who argues F1 is better off without cars like this doesn't have a friggin clue.
Wish they would resurrect new versions of cars like this for a series. Never appreciated it at the time but even A1GP would be incredible.
only beaten by the Matra V12 soundwise
0:09 that sounds like Godzilla's roar 🦖
Essa Minardi é linda!! Isto é um carro de Formula 1 de verdade!!!! This Minardi is beautiful!! This is a real Formula 1 car!!!
Is this the fabulous sounding Lamborghini engine that Mr Walker and Mr Hunt referred too as, "Grenades".
Love it! 😍 So brutal yet harmonic.
those cars deserves better drivers and a real track, but the sound is awesome as allways!
The early 90s cars were insane. Peak F1 imo
Minardi forever!
What beautiful sounding and looking cars ❤ better than the shit from today by far
If only they had the money back then to make the engine more reliable and the car faster.
Sounds from heaven or hell....
great ❤
Witnessed this car in Phoenix GP in 90 or 91. Engine note was significantly different than all others

These cars were peak design by way of beauty and function. Small, nimble, goof downforce in the right areas.
Chrysler bought Lamborghini some time in the late eighties. Lotus and Larousse ran Chrysler Lamborghini engines in their cars
