@@aceflibble I didn't knew about Strawberry Switchblades- I'm gonna check them out for sure! I'm a The Cure fan and know a lot of their songs, and arrangements as I'm also a musician, they are iconic sonic-wise. I didn't see the jangle guitar coming from french dance necessary - and I think The Cure is bigger than only that one type of musical resource. Nobody needs to know anything about music story to enjoy music- that's the magic. Even though some stuff could be quite derivative from previous, known or unknown artists and bands, it's quite refreshing to hear any modern twist. I don't feel Pale waves as a breakthrough act, even though their collection of influences in this song sounds quite appealing for their format . They say only great artist know how to steal wisely. If Stockhausen met The Beatles everything is possible.
thats how i felt when i first heard them, then i heard the album and it was so one note it kinda turned me off them. i dont mind a consistent album but every song just felt the same. hopefully their new album tries something different and doesnt feel like a group of executives made every decision to ensure they didnt break formula.

Heather is my inspiration to embrace my dark clothing style. As a kid I was always afraid to dress the way I wanted to. I tried fitting in like my family and school kids back in the day, But now that I've grown older I realized that its ok to be punk, goth or whatever you want to call it! We all have different interests.
To all the people trying to shit on this band and their performance: you can hear her singing like she was obviously not lip syncing, while i was not at this performance i have heard them play live and they're badass, chill the hell out with all your hate damn
She not lip syncing but definitely singing along to a backing track of her own vocals. A lot bands do this to make the vocals pop more. You can hear the fact the vocals sound double tracked here because there’s her live vocals and the vocals on the backing at the same time.

....for the record, at 82yrs old I was at both festivals , dressed in my favourite pinstriped Navy blue blazer and matching strides , plus personalised extended 13" Top hat with optional ostrich feather , and no blasted i-phone!!

There was no-one in the tent for this, it was really bizarre. I'm not sure the band were all that impressed when they saw it either.
Jon Ward They didn't pack out the tent but they had a fair sized crowd. For what it's worth, Interpol didn't pack out the tent either.

If you can't hear her actually singing you don't have a good headset, or sound system. There's no lip-syncing happening, there's a backing track and for some reason, whoever the sound people were decided it should be WAY too loud.
