not really, it only works in north america, and then germany, france, ireland and italy or something at the end of the year. everywhere where there is really nobody in the freakin rainforest, it doesn'T work
@@superiortoall22 that's not really the problem, those are private communication satellites. what's missing is the Relais stations on the ground with trained people than can alarm local police or fire department or whatever.

The US wouldn’t want China on their private satellites. Honestly, most modern countries have pararescue that can respond pretty rapidly; if you’re able to send out an SOS, the situation would be better than knowing there’s no one out there knowing you’re in danger.

Very true. I can imagine having an emergency high up on Mt. Suswa. Sans the views, i doubt satellite connectivity would work out there but would be nice if it did... however human help is closer as the mountain has high foot traffic.
This would be super helpful if for some reason your cellphone company has a network outage in your city as well and can still get emergency help during an emergency if your cellphone company has a outage for a few days.

This is great feature not only for iphone they need this in every phone especially for abduction victims and don't want to alert the abductor if you are seeking help

Kind of disappointed that Apple isn't proactively deploying this in countries like mine that are situated in Southeast Asia where Tsunamis, Earthquakes, and Hurricanes/Typhoons happen frequently throughout the year. We NEED this and that's one of the reasons why we are all planning on upgrading to the iPhone 14 series. We badly need this, we experience 16 typhoons every year, blackouts that last weeks, etc.
